OK OK. Freestyle is the art of expressing oneself with the use of a football doing various tricks and is a seperate SPORT than soccer. There ya go. It is not real soccer because it is a different sport.

why do you say "real soccer"? its not Soccer at all, real or fake lol... it just seems like you are implying that soccer is the real deal and freestyle is something for gays who werent good enough to be pro soccer players...

and youre absolutely right!

Its not football at all? Well half the name comprises of "football".  And I am certainly not trying to convince anyone that freestyle is gay haha. Freestyle and soccer are both great sports! Anyway this wasn't meant to be an arguement over if freestyle is real or fake or whatever.

What did you think of the video Dan? I have watched some of your freestyle videos and you are very good!

FreeGFreestyler, I hope you don't see our comments as an attack. We just like to educate new freestylers in a way that they'll feel bad(lol, harsh I know) so that when they become a more matured freestyler and understand our concepts, they'll do the same to a new freestyler some day. And the cycle continues :)

It's just the name of the ball we use, not the actual sport "football".

??? variation? maybe you should look for a better word. we happen to use the same ball. Formula 1 is not a variation of driving to work :)
brilliant comparison  :great:

I dont care what you say about the video it is not me freestyling. You won't hurt my feelings at all. Blast away alex. Also how is it not a freestyle video? I know the editing isn't the best  but what is it then?

When you say 'real soccer' to a freestyler it's pretty patronising, as if we've never heard of football before.

It's the type of moves the person does that make it a freestyle video. In 2001, this would be considered a 'freestyle' video, in 2011, this is considered a football tricks video. And like most of these kind of videos, it's pretty much compiled of the same few single moves over and over.
Any other questions? :)

I didn't say that and I'm not implying that either. You can't compare a football tricks video to a freestyle video. It's like being great at rollerblading but can't play rollerblading hockey. Not being able to play rollerblading hockey doesn't mean he's not good at rollerblading.
That's probably not a good example but you can't really compare the two fairly imo.
