So everyone knows, this topic has made me really sad... you guys really hurt my feelings

especially dan :'( i cried myself to sleep because of you guys...
Anyway, I go to the university of chicago every other weekend because i take english courses there.
I talked to one of the physics professors that work there about this, and this is what he told me:
Our sport is not a matter of the ball falling down, more pushing it up and then making revolutions.
Since the ball is flat, you will also get a LARGER surface area. It's flat, there's no way around it, any argument against it being the same is just plain stupid.
side-note: a flat ball is easier to get into the air. Unless your ball is totally flat, a slightly less pumped ball has a lesser weight and requires less opposing force (the contact between your foot and the ball) too force it up then a normal pumped ball.
This is where the "all objects fall at the same rate." A flat ball and a pumped ball will fall at the same rate. What does that mean? Absolutely nothing. We are not making the balls fall, we are pushing them up and making revolutions. All objects fall at the same rate does not apply here at all. You need more muscle to push up an inflated ball then you do a flat ball.
Basically, it does not matter that all objects fall at the same rate. All that matters is the touch/weight of a ball, because you need muscles to push a ball into the air, not down.
Gman he laughed at your post. (the first part)
edit: anyone has anything to say about it, i will gladly go back next weekend, log on, and let him write to you guys.
