Knowing Man U of later I think it will be tight. They aren't as expansive as they used to be. Man U 2-1 over the two legs.

Manutd are hitting form now in the second half of the season.....as usual :040: Schalke have been good in champ league so far but they are not on manutd's level. I see manutd taking this one easy 4-0 over 2 legs.
I can't believe you guys are doubting manutd in this one :017: I'm not even going to watch the 2 matches because this one is a foregone conclusion :015:

People are writing Schalke off, and righfully so if you base it on talent alone.  English sides, however, struggle in Germany and I think this will be the case here.

Who plays at home first?  If Schalke plays at home, I think it will be good for them.  Normally it's an advantage to be on the road first, but in my opinion, you have the advantage if you're the less favored team.  Puts a little pressure on the opponent when they go home.

I see something similar to Man U vs Wolfsburg from last year - pretty close games.

yeh and most managers like to play at home in the second leg....at least that is what they say. But when that happens they always set out defensively and play for a 0-0 draw away in the 1st leg and end up at home in the 2nd leg with no away goal to lean on.
This away goals rule, apparantly, supposed to make away teams attack more, but they never do that because of intimidation of playing away......and also home teams defend more at home in fear of conceding away goals
So imo the away goals rule is a failure cause it makes champ league even more defensive and boring.
Also, away goals count double even in extra time after 180 mins have been played so that is another big advantage to playing the 2nd leg away.

Schalke hasnt been given a second chance/thought throughout this entire tournament.

Hopefully Real Madrid v Schalke final

I don't see it much different for Shalke to beat United than it was for them to beat Inter. I thought they were underdogs in that match as well. I don't think United match up great for German teams. It will really depend on Shalke. United have become the masters of not really playing well themselves, but making other teams play really poorly and capitalizing on their errors.  If Shalke play to their capabilities, I do not see it being a problem for them to advance. It will be difficult. I see it as this, if Shalke win, the games could be very entertaining, because it will mean Shalke are taking it to United, forcing them to try to play. If it's boring and I feel like sleeping during the game, United will squeak a tight scoreline. I'll be cheering for the first. Barca and Real are the real final for me. I'd be a little shocked if either of them lost in the final.

Schalke has only been defeated 1 time in their 10 Champions League matches this season.  The 1 loss came again Lyon when Howedes got sent off.

I expected more from schalke :017: I had a feeling manutd would win but i did not expect so much domination from start to finish. Oh well......manutd vs. madrid/barca in the final because this tie is OVA!!

Terrible game from 10 of Schalke's players. Manuel Neuer on the other hand, best performance of the tournament so far hands down. Man U couldve easily been up 6-0 at half had it not been for him.

Looks like Man U's 3rd final in 4 yrs unless Schalke wake up in England
