Freestylers vs Regular Footballers - Quit Hatin!
« on: Mar 04, 2011, 07:23: AM »
Seriously, what's the deal with freestylers hating on regular footballers, and vice versa?  Can't we all just appreciate each other and not bitch?!

Maybe it's different in the US than it is in Europe, but in the US I just want to see football as a whole grow.  If someone freestyles, I appreciate it because it helps draw the eye to freestyle and football as well.  Anything that can help the sport grow makes me happy.  In Europe, football is already God so maybe that's the difference.  Maybe you Europeans just want your own freestyle scene and will hate on football to draw attention to freestyle.  I don't know if regular footballers are pricks to you or what, but what's with the beef I'm sensing?

I figured freestylers would still have a love for football, and I know some do (Dan, Golo, etc.)

i think footballers hate freestylers way more than we hate them. its obvious why, we get more attention.
and my love for soccer has died a lot since i took up fs. i performed at big screen events during the world cup, both semis and for the final. i didnt bother watching the matches, i would just perform at half time, rest of the time i practised and enjoyed the free stuff

I think freestylers hate on footballers, because we don't want to get compared to them... We often hear something like "That's useless in a match" or "You can't do that in a game", which evokes some kind of hate against these football players.

i don't have any problems with footballers. They are all impressed and like to watch, while other people don't give a shit.

i don't like football players in general
i hate people saying freestyle is easy or not for tough lads - while it requires so much will power, patience, hard work and commitment

We're not hating, we're just fed up with retarded comments and non stop comparisons with football(ers) which are disrespectful.

Also, it's mostly jokes, haven't seen that much (or any) actual HATE comments from freestylers towards football(ers), although I must admit some do go a bit too far with it, which was visible in the thread with FS shirts.

P.S. A good football player (especially those who have good or great technique) will 99% of the time have only positive comments for a freestyler, whereas the pathetic excuses for a footballer who can't dribble past a cone will always try to find something "smart" to say. ;)

I think it goes both ways Miran - if you are a freestyler who can't play football, you diss footballers.  I think that's what it is... if you're no good at the other sport, you hate on it.

You don't have to be good at both and that's OK but be the bigger person and don't bitch about it.

And why have groundmoves dissappeared?  They used to be real popular back in the day when freestyle got started.  I guess it had to do with the street football movement.  I think groundmoves could actually be used in real football in many ways.

That word isn't needed. Freestylers are not playing an irregular version of football.
95% of footballers say that to me when they want me to play football with them. "Hey Elias, I know you're great at football freestyle, haha, but how about you give regular football a go, ey?" - "No."
It's something that irritates me to no end.

I don't hate or like 11-a-side footballers, some are nice & some are arrogant and ignorant. I don't hate football just have much less interest now i freestyle.
