Freestyle Scene = Dead?

For the first time there are competitions giving away considerable amounts of money in prizes.  Copa Challenge giving away around $15,000-20,000 in prizes and there are several others around $5,000.

If enough people participate, we should see more of this.  Personally, I'd rather see more competitions giving away $500-1,000 but have lots of little comps all over the place.  This will create more of a grassroots buzz and get more people interested.

Freestyle is growing faster then ever before! it will be HUGE!

so dont worry about that.

Before freestyle football was much about beeing on a forum and showing videos to other "freaks"

now its changed... freestyle doesnt need forums in the same way.  basicly the forums pick up the new guys that wanna learn the tricks and have 1000 questions about everything... the old guys doesnt post much at all anymore, they just practice on their own, and showing their videos to freestylers the know... like on facebook...

just because the guys doesnt upload a video every week, doesnt mean they dont practice ;)

I don't know what about other countries, but there's a situation in Poland, that people don't write too much on our biggest forum(futbolweb.pl), because they already know themselves and simply talk on Messenger, meet, etc. They just prefer direct contact, not via net. Anyway, if a "freestyle Internet scene" is dying, what's the problem? There's a REAL WORLD left, YOU NO LIFES! :D

idk how the freestyle scene is in other parts of the world,but what i can say is that here in the area where i live  no one really cares or even knows fs.
This forum is pretty much the only place where i can talk about fs.
So i think this forum is great.
I feel that people are afraid of even trying to fs.
Cuz the other day i did a simple ATW and my friends were all like wow i could never do that.

i was not active on the forum until i moved to the US
forum is good, as long as people discuss freestyle and practice too - to be able to discuss it
but not spend hours in religion thread or discussing graphic cards in the technology section

Like some of you said, you still need forums in some parts of the world.  If you live in the US, nobody freestyles and the best place to be around freestyle is to be on a forum.  I can understand it being a little different in the UK or in Poland where you have quite a few freestylers nearby and plenty of place to go for LPs even.

i dont think that enthusiasm is dead cause the level is higher everyday.... the fs train more everyday but they dont write in the forum ...
