yes do as ethan said
there was a point where I couldn't improve at all too. that was because my basics were unbelievably poor. I actually started to do 3 hours of simple training like: ("..." represents breaking and doing kick ups)
w atw... atw - atw - atw
then repeating it 10x without dropping the ball
10(w htw... htw - htw - htw)
10(w co... co - w atw - htw)
and so on and so forth. after each of those, the level gets harder and harder. 10(w tatw... tatw - htw), 10(w htatw... htatw - htw) etc...
Create your own combos and improve consistency, style, stamina or whatever. 10(hatw - w hatw - atw - htw... tatw - w atw - htw - atw - htw) etc....
Consistency is VERY important. If you are not consistent with your moves don't expect to do combos which have the more advanced moves like hmatw/htatw/amatw nt etc...
you can say focus on improving your long combos ability, consistency, stamina, and style
this will also help your actual freestyle training become less stressful.
I stopped doing these stuff because of laziness and it's taking a toll on me. that's how I did my training when I had time. of course this is just consistency practice. on other days I would do actual hardcore practice, trying to improve my level. There will be a point when you really won't need this consistency practice, but IMO, it's very important for beginners. That's why many ppl can only do atw - co - htw or whatever in lps or battles. you cannot do stuff you didn't do before when you're under pressure even if they're easy. if you have not trained it long enough you cannot do it. I can't do proper in atws or matws anymore coz I haven't been doing them much and when I use them in combos they look strikingly gay.

if you're fsing just to record the combo once then I don't know what's the point of that. when you do your 1st patw you don't just leave it at that and try to do patw - combo...
I hope you get my point

EDIT: If you want you could go full hardcore, but style will suck and might improve after a year or more once you notice it sucks, training sessions will be EXTREMELY stressful, and you could easily have cramps, shin splints, knee injuries or other pains. I also doubt you could do them live or in battles and I doubt you could even do simpler combos. your choice really.
In boxing, a boxer doesn't only train hooks when it comes to training. he doesn't practice by doing long combos. you see them doing a simple combo over and over and over and over and over again and again and again and again and again. then they move on to another combo practicing it for hours.
at last, when he needs it most (in the ring) he can mix up those that he practiced. Let's say he has a good and powerful uppercut but doesn't practice it consistently. can he use it effectively?
same goes with other sports and martial arts.
