Come on... they were about the same. Drogba was amazing but so were Ronaldo and Messi. Maybe the voters appreciate Ronaldo and Messi more because they are more technically gifted. They play more of an overall game than Drogba and are probably more fun to watch. Don't get me wrong, Drogba was sensational with his finishing and strength. The gap between 1st and 2nd was probably tiny. The same goes for the gaps between 2nd and 3rd, and so on.

Honest;y thats laughable where you even watching Drogba last year? he was on something else. A more of an overall game and more gifted? Drogba was defensively, in the air, strength, finishing, holding the ball and being a better team player last year.
Chelsea v Barcelona was all down to Drogba where was Messi. Chelsea won more trophies last season than United And he scored far more goals. Please don't try to justify it. The man was robbed for what ever reason.

Drogba's total is 26 in that respect. As an out and out striker.

Ronaldo had 17 goals that season in the league.
Ronaldo had 3 goals that season in the UCL
Ronaldo totals 20 goals. As a Wide Player :down:

Ruud van Nistelrooy had 25 goals that season in his league.
Ruud van Nistelrooy had 6 goals in the UCL that season.
Ruud van Nistelrooy totals 31 goals. As an out and out striker.

Even tho Drogba had a knee operation this season and hes been away at the Nations cup with Cote d'Ivoire before he fully recoverd. It took him a bit of time to rediscover his form but who cares. No one is even going to begin to use that as excuses. Were talking about last season!! Drogba scored a total of 33 Goals for Chelsea Compared to Ronaldo's 23 total. Drogba played a much bigger role for Chelsea Than Ronaldo did for United. No chance Ronaldo deserved to be ahead. Sometimes people on this site are so thick. Its like arguing with a brick wall.

Strikers are meant to score goals and score goals he did, very important goals as well. So why not use goals as an argument. Goals win games and won games equal trophies and awards. Yeah, that's true.Goals does win games, but if you only score and have a bad defense you'll concede more goals than you can score.Where would be team like that? And what impact did Drogba have as a wide player? Was he an effective wide player? Ronaldo was. Ronaldo was actually the best wide player in England, and has been for the past three years. So tell me, how often did Drogba effectively take players on out wide for his team?

Ronaldo is just a better player, period. He has better talent, better crossing, better dribbling ability, and is an overall better attacking force. Sure, Drogba scored more goals, but what can you expect from an out and out striker. Again I stress the fact that van Nistelrooy had over 33 goals last  but no one talks about him deserving it. Why? Because, although he has a great ability to score goals, as an overall player and effective attacking force, he isn't as good as, let's say, Ronaldo.  When Drogba gets the ball outside of the box, you can't really expect much from him. When Ronaldo gets the ball outside or inside of the box, opponents are scared. This is a fact. Drogba is an out and out striker, I would hope he had more goals than Ronaldo. If he didn't (doesn't :biggrin:), it's actually pretty embarassing. So do you think Adebayor should win it this year? He's got 30 goals. That's not too bad is it? Goals, Goals, Goals!!

If you want to talk about Midfield players Kaka shitted all over Ronaldo that season. The diffrence between Roanldo and Drogba was that Drogba single handedly kept Chelsea in the title race and Champions league. Only half way thought the season he was on 20 goals. He showed up in big games and kept Chelsea in it when it mattered most Against Barca, Against Liverpool, Everton, Unite and more.  Remember United in the FA cup final where the fuck was Ronaldo again Drogba outclassed him. Like hes been all that season again Drogba stepped up and was the difference. Ronaldo was outclassed in important games remember him being shitted on against AC Milan. Really all this shit your mentioning doesn't hold any weight.  And honestly shut up with all this it was a team trophy, teams win trophies because they have those players that step up and do the job that needs to be done. Example if it wasn't for Kakas important goals AC wouldn't have even been in the Quarterfinals of the Champions league that season forget about wining it.
