Arsenal 2-1 Barca

 :sign0098:

What up big guy?!  Where have you been?

The Barca - Arsenal game was quite a joy to watch.  Arsenal had it in the first 10 minutes, then Barca took over for 45 before Arsenal closed it out.  I have no idea what to expect from the next game, but something tells me we'll see something close to last years performance.  Maybe not quite a hattrick from Messi, but I can see Barca winning 2-0 through two of his goals.

I couldn't help but notice how Barcelona has no other forward besides Villa.  Yeah, they have Bojan, but that's not enough.  I know they play a unique system where their attacking mids overlap so much with their strikers that there is no clear forward line.  Either way, it's crazy to think that they don't really have anyone else for that position.  Messi tried to fill in but that wasn't good.  Barca completely fell apart last game when Villa vent off.  The two wide attacking mids were squeezed inside after Villa went off which just resulted in all the attack coming from Dani Alves... and we know damn well he can't do shit right.

Jack Wilshere too scared to ask for Messi's shirt, sends Cesc to do it

Wilshere replied with "you are the skipper mate you should look after your players ;) Thanks though and next time in going after your mate iniesta!"

I must admit, I did not expect Arsenal to beat Barcelona yesterday. The Gunners deserved the win too. I think Wenger's young guns are finally coming of age? It was a mature performance. They defended well and attacked well at times too. Koscielny was HUGE against messi!! :undecided:
I always questioned Wenger's obsession with young players and reluctance to buy experienced stars, but I think his pedophilia is about to pay off this year :lol_hitting:

Haha; Cesc is certainly playing in the form of his life, but he isn't the greatest leader. He's too quiet. Arsenal don't really have a hot-head or a leader on their team right now. I actually miss Gallas.

@ Adi,

Prormormances??!! :017: what's that?.....u mean appearances? If so yeh I believe he also has the all time appearances record. I don't know how many but it doesn't really matter. He only has that record because he played for madrid during the 1998 - 2002 period when madrid were dominant in europe and therefore had more matches to play.

i say 2-1 to gunners next week.....again.
It was strange to see how arsenal played better without Alex Song in the 2nd half. Maybe they should try that from the start next week :017: Song did a lot of fouls and i know he helped break up barca's play but arsenal were so much more fluid with nasri and wilshere in the centre. That is why they got the 2 goals.
Song is a great player but I'm not sure arsenal's style needs a player like him. Just like how Ibra is a great player but barca's style doesn't suit him.
