I understand your appreciation for the old Ronaldo. He became a legend in his first 3 years in Europe.
As far as your C. Ronaldo comment goes, I think you are wrong. I know it's your opinion and I don't mean to disrespect it but let's be serious here. Cristiano has grown so much as a player since he came to Man U. He is no longer the player you talk about in your post. He uses his tricks when he needs them but has become much smarter on the pitch. Do you really believe his 30+ goals this season are a fluke? If you watch him, you'll realize that he's simply unstoppable. There's no way to control him. Even the defensive minded Italians got a lesson from him.
If you watch him play this year, you'll also realize that he was just as good, if not even more effective than Ronaldinho in his golden 2005 season. That comparison alone make him a legend to come. And not only that, but Ronaldo seems to have a better head on his shoulders than Ronaldinho. Just look at Ronni crumbling away like Adriano. Ronaldo has been getting better every year and there's no reason for him not to continue in that fashion. He's overcome so much crap from the fans during the 2006 Euro and I don't think there's anything out there that can stop him. That is, except for a season-ending injury. And to my amazement, he's done incredibly well to stay injury free, considering how many players want to break his leg day in and day out.
