Milito left off Ballon D'Or list
« on: Oct 31, 2010, 05:59: AM »
Could someone please tell me how this list is chosen because i seriously do not understand how milito is left out. I do not expect him to win but he should be nominated at least right?? how did asamoah gyan make it on the list?  :wtf: And eto'o is a great player but milito has been better at Inter in 2010.....so if eto'o is there milito should be too. He scored about 30 goals last year and won the champions league too....what more can he do??!!
forget Ronaldinho....only one deserves the -inho suffix......Jabarinho!!!!

QFT. Specially cuz he won the second goal in Inter's title winning game 2-1. And scored the only goal in the cup. It's not his fault he wasnt selected for almost all of Argentina's matches. Im not saying Higuain is bad, but, a season like Milito's should be acknowledged

it should be more then acknowledged, it should be rewarded with a starting place

well i don't think so because higuain had an impressive season as well. 29 goals with no penalties or free
kicks. higuain deserved his starting place. But milito at least deserved more substitute appearances.
Maradona usually went with aguero instead because aguero is his son-in-law :lol_hitting:. So i guess milito is
accustomed to being treated unfairly by now so his Ballon D'Or snub is probably no real shock to him.

NOT A SHOCK?!?!?!?!

come on man, you win the treble, you score two goals in the champions league final, score the winning goal in the coppa italia, score the seria A winning goal

but you know your not gonna be nominated for the ballon D'or?

if i was milito i would already start making a place for the trophy in my cabinet

It's just because of the World Cup.  During World Cup years, a huge chunk of the voting comes from your performance during the tournament.  Messi should win it for sure, but he probably won't due to the fact that Argentina struggled to meet expectations.  Xavi or Iniesta might take it because they did well with Barca and also won the World Cup.

It's not fair, but that's how it is.  Does anyone have the full list of nominees?

Gyan is such a sympathetic candidate. Missed the penalty that couldve put Ghana into semis and only scored 10-15 goals for Rennes in the season

lol! this list is a complete shit! where are argentinean players such as di maria(best player of the portuguesse leage at the time for sure) where is milito, where is higuain?maybe tevez(who is man c top scorer, and scored the "best wc goal", and did have one of the best performances in this wc) and why are so many german players? Ok, they did a good wc, but apart from that, what did for example miroslav klose do? forlan had a great wc, but he isnt as good to appear in that list! this makes me remember when fifa made the selection of who was the player of the century. They made some internet poll, and maradona won. So, as they wanted pele to win, they made a ranking by them selves and gave both players an award. Maradona for the best player of the century by popular vote, and pele for best player of the century by ranking fifa. Im fucking sick of them (fifa)!! They cant even manage to do a decent "best player of the year" candidate list

to conclude: I know Im extremly argentinean, but I think those players I mentioned, deserved at least the oportunity to be in that list. And if fifa does take into a count the result in wc, they are even more dumb than what I thought
