Why 8 instead of 12?
Give 12! After all so will be more abruptly!

yea he said top 12, but how do u wanna fight it out, if 12 people are in the next round??
8 is good
example:
a vs. b
c vs. d
e vs. f
g vs. h

then a vs c and e vs. g and then a vs. e

now tell me how to fight out top 12?
it would be possible, but then there would be 3 guys in the final

System with 12 participants:

Group stage:

4 groups on 3 competitors
From each group in the following round pass 2 competitors.

1/4 final:

A vs H
B vs G
C vs F
D vs E

And next will be semifinal, final and final for the 3 place.
