Freestyle atmosphere.
« on: Sep 14, 2010, 07:49: AM »
Hey guys,

I dont know, maybe it is just me who feels like this at the moment but right now it feels like the whole community, family feel to freestyle is going.

There is so much arrogance now on the forum, and there is way too much hatred.

Some topics getting almost 100 comments of just arguing, hating for no reason.

wtf is up, surely it isnt so hard to have a cool atmosphere like there once was, because after all we all share the same passion for freestyle...

The last time i felt the AMAZING family atmosphere in freestyle was in amsterdam.

any of you guys agree/what u think can be done?

yeah its coz theres so many LPs and opportunities now and people fighting to get them..
if someone gets attention for any reason people are always getting jealous..
furthermore so many freestylers are trying to market themselves over the top, all these fan pages on facebook, gtfo!!
nobody is gonna be famous by having a facebook fan page, do u think that shits gonna get u LPs?
i felt (at times only) a kind of divided atmosphere in Prague, it was only 5% of the time, but people were hanging out in mini-groups, all the polish together, all the italians together, all the ukranians together, all the hungarians etc etc.. then the "rest of the countries" had some other mini-groups in between them, at times it felt a bit weird, and yes, Amsterdam had by far the best vibe/atmosphere of any meeting ever.. i can promise i wont try to get a competition there, it might make the atmosphere more closed and competitive..

also people are so fast to judge on the internet, that 10RonaldoC kid made a video that was really good for a 14 year old and people were already hatin saying he cut grounded clips, so what, the kids 14 give him a break!

anyway we are all guilty of it sometimes, i know im one of the ones who talks the most crap and im always never serious online but this post is 100% serious and those who know me know that i honestly love fs so much and i want the scene to be as cool as possible with nobody hatin on each other and people gotta stop being enemies for stupid reasons...
last year it wasnt like this, as far as i can remember so lets get back to it   :Woot_Emoticon:

true words but we must not forget that due to the competitive nature of freestyle that has helped freestyle evolve itself. everyone wanting to be the best and training harder have pushed levels way higher than it ever been. i cant stand arrogant people but its probably still a small minority of people, but at the end of the day its human nature and it will always be there.

Dan said pretty much everything that was needed to be said.
This is the part of the progress of Freestyle, the sport is growing, more people get into freestyle,

more freestylers = more interests for companys to earn some money in freestyle.

more money in the sport equals a more overall serious touch and atmosphere.

a more serious atmoshpere = people are stucking to what they do and they do everything to be the best.

when people want to do anything to be the best, they don't care if other freestylers come in the way..

well, this is far from the reality right now, but it will get there.. the old family feeling will always be there, but as long as competitions and "the world best" title is out there ready to be catched, there will be a competive feeling over everything

yes the facebook fanpage thing is so embarassing i cant stand it. also that everyone wants to like us all their statusses ( oliver) is annoying and doesnt really appear professional.

about that 10RonaldoC guy, i could translate you some of his statements and you would easily agree with me that he is totally retarded and i really mean TOTALLY. so you cant name him as an example.

i disagree with you somehow about prague but maybe thats just because i was talking to almost everybody, for me it felt like one big family.

well, i can´t say much about this, because i am not member as long as the others,
but of course people start to hatin others and it doesn´t seem like we´re a family
but when i have seen linde´s what freestyle has become and its comments, i REALLY thought "freestyle is what conncetcs us" and i had the feeling like we all are a family

true words dan and tom...

i really like wallowing in memories, when i remember starting to freestyle like 4 years ago, the "soccergrip" forum was really like one big family - REALLY! everybody took part in competitions, after a specific result we were not discussing if he should have won etc. everybody was feeling happy for the other one when he won a "battle"...  also the german forum was amazing, we posted like 5 comments average every day, talking to each other, teaching each other - that time was seriously amazing and i'm so happy that i had the luck being involved in this... (i remember chatting with senad everyday sending each other mini freestyle clips like 8 hatws or 5 htws, atatw and so on... it was so much fun and there was NO pressure at all, no one was jealous etc.)... now i don't want to say that everything is worse, i mean it's great seeing how our sport develops and people getting performances, getting the chance to travel, meeting new people, having the chance to earn money with what the love doing most - FREESTYLE - but I feel like there is always this pressure on you, so many guys think of their own and how they can push themselves forward... the community thinking isn't as strong as it was like back in the days... sad but true, when a sport is developing fastly, i think it has its good and bad sites... bringing back the atmosphere will be hard, very hard in my opinion but not impossible...

for me cero 2 still is the best freestyle dvd out there, brings back so many amazing memories when i watched it together with two other freestylers...
i remember the scene in which palle deleted the eiffel tower in the background and then put it back with a sound effect, i was like -  :wtf:
the palle part especially was just mindblowing, at this time i didn't even think that these sort of combos were possible... good times for sure
