Recommend a good "unknown" movie...
« on: Aug 10, 2010, 02:28: PM »
Post your recommendations on good movies that are not well known.

I have seen a lot of movies and would like to rent something random but pretty good.

I'll start it off with my recommendation... Old Boy.  Unique plot, twisted, and interesting!

Hmm, this is difficult for me mainly because I don't keep up. A good movie that I presume is unknown, 'Fracture'.

Naked Lunch (don't even ask)
Death Race 2000 (young david carradine in a brutal futuristic car race where hitting pedestrians gets you points)
Rocky Horror Picture Show (must see cultural relic)
Pumping Iron (documentary)
Krull (awful and kitschy 80's scifi)
Hard Candy (hard to watch but very good)

Worst movie ever. Alot of the scenes were not needed. Anyone with a functioning brain would have figured out what was about to happen to the guys nuts.
Started off well, then it just went down hill from there.
Also, insufficient ending. Who was the real molestor? I hate when movies do that.

Dude, it's so lame to Google an answer for this topic.  What movies can YOU recommend?  Shit, anybody can use Google.

That being said, it's a pretty good list.  :-)  One in particular on there I would HIGHLY recommend is Hard Boiled, or any John Woo movie for that matter.  The teahouse and hospital scenes in that movie are fantastic.

that indeed is a very good movie, creepy as shit :P.

one of the movies i know very little people have watched, despite the critics, is Cinema Paradiso, maybe the best movie ever made, the most beautyful in my opinion at least.

Rocky Horror Picture Show liked mentioned before is a must watch, and Ghibli Studios movies are also beautiful, most of them.

For those who are really into movies, watch Stalker, for those who are not, well youll probably fall asleep after the first 10 mins.
