Breaking Gossip

Bayern Munich have entered the race to sign Spurs striker Dimitar Berbatov. (The Sun)

West Ham boss Alan Curbishley is under increasing pressure at Upton Park, with Croatia coach Slaven Bilic interested in succeeding him. (The Independent)

Former Spurs goalkeeping coach Hans Segers has branded Dimitar Berbatov a "a big sulker" and "a loner" who is difficult to communicate with and does not pull his weight - but apart from that.... (Daily Mirror)

The SWP and Saha transfers are both very good for the teams they are joining. I think Saha will go on my fantasy team.

The thing about Berbatov at Bayern is crap I think. I haven't heard anything about it from the Bayern side.

On the other hand, Bayern sold Jansen to Hamburg and got Oddo from AC Milan on load. I don't know why the hell we sold Jansen. I don't think he ever got a good enough chance.

Pavlychunko got signed by Tottenham.

And apparently Arshavin will stay in Russia. I can't believe nobody snapped him up after all that talk. Zenit must be asking for too much. At least he's playing in the Champions League. He'll have plenty of tough matches to prove himself in.

Official: Menez Joins Roma
AS Monaco have confirmed that Jeremy Menez has joined Italian side Roma after both clubs reached an deal on Thursday evening...
Roma have been after the forward for weeks and they have now finally landed their man after striking an accord with the Ligue 1 side.

Luciano Spalletti has been keen on the 21-year-old striker and the deal happened as the Champions League draw took place.

It is believed Roma have paid the French side around €14m but no details have been released just yet.

A statement on Monaco's official website reads:

"AS Monaco FC and AS Roma have reached an agreement for the transfer of Jeremy Menez. The French striker will now join the Serie A runners up.

"Menez arrived in Monaco in 2006 and he played 64 matches, scoring 14 goals in all competitions with the Red and White jersey."

Menez is one of the most promising young players in French football, with some pundits comparing his playmaking skills with those of Les Bleus legend Zinedine Zidane.

The starlet, who can also play up-front, was signed from Sochaux in order to assist giant Czech Republic hitman Jan Koller.

Menez first hit the headlines in 2005, when at the age of 17 he became the youngest-ever player to score a hat-trick in the French championship.

He will now line up alongside Julio Baptista as the Giallorossi's attacking line up gets even stonger.

Interesting signing. I haven't seen him play much, but on Football Manager he's always one of the top young prospects. I don't care what anyone says, but that game is about as accurate as it gets.

Tottenham have done really well in the transfer window, they also got Dos Santos and Modric.

That's some nice photoshopping. Those teams better get this deal done quick. They only got 3 more hours to complete the deal.

They also lost Keane and now Berbatov too probably. I think they lost in the transfer window to be honest. The addition of Modric, Dos Santos, and Bentley means less to me than the departures of their top two strikers.
