macs aren't business oriented - they are more for music/art oriented people, for which they are great.

think about business - they all run of PC. a switch to macs would cost a lot of money and make everything less efficient.

it's just an accessible unix based os on a mediocre computer. that's what you're paying 1500 bucks for

honestly i dont know much about unix.
but ive owned both and i have to say that i found macs to be way better, at least for what i use computers for.
since i switched to vista i gotta say i was fucking angry, not because the obvious fact that there are million types of viruses for vista, because installing a good antivirus isnt much work. but vista is fucking unstable doesnt matter how much ram you have or how fast your processor is, and having to deal with programs from wich youll get 98% cpu usage or having to defrag your hard disk are things that youll never see on a mac. of course thats my personal experience, maybe you have your reasons to like windows more, idk

vista is a steaming pile of shit. thankfully, i can run multiple os on my pc just as anyone else can on a mac.

i don't think it's that i necessarily like windows more. it's more of that i like the price point and customizability of a pc

I prefer a PC because i just feel more in control of what i'm doing with a PC, and i feel its much more customisable, especially if instead of running windows you run a Linux based operating system, but if you don't know much about computers i would say stick to windows.

As i see Viruses were raised you really have to be a bit of a retard to gain a deadly computer virus these days just download a decent anti-virus program and then scan your computer maybe every week which will cause you at most a couple of hours of slow performance.

I really don't see the benefits in paying ridiculous amounts for Mac's even if you want to use them for the media and art purposes as you can easily get sufficient programs for most levels of media and art for a PC if you just look around and do some research.

The thing is those programs run better on mac, thats why most graphic design academys use macs, well im talking of course about hamburg, dont know how it is out there

You can also run linux on apple computers.
customizability
you mean like upgrading hardware?

I would disagree if you have the money for a 3,000 dollar Mac you can buy a PC that would blow it out of the water in terms of performance if you shopped around.
