Michael Owen is undergoing a medical ahead of his proposed free transfer to Manchester United.

Sky Sports News reports that Owen has arrived at United's Carrington training ground for the start of what is likely to be a day-long examination.

Due to his wretched injury record, Owen's medical is likely to be more rigorous and stringent than is the normal. The channel has speculated that United have already carried out checks on the knee that Owen injured at the 2006 World Cup on Thursday and his medical will conclude with a full medical check-up at a Manchester hospital.

However, their report from Carrington concluded with the categorical statement: "This is a move that is definitely on."

owen has been a good player every season that he has been fit or played. he actually played very well at real, but for reasons outside of ability he found himself on the bench behind ronaldo and raul. he actually was real's second leading scorer during the time.  his only true problem is that he can never play a season without getting injured. he has shown good form for newcastle when he was fit. if he plays for united he willl be successful, because they have the players to put him in scoring oppurtunities. the only other thing i have to say about this, is that he is going to have to be careful about getting killed by some crazy scouse if he plays for them. I don't think i or any other liverpool fan could forgive him for playing for them.
