They also probably have a great great great grandmother who once went on an exchange trip to Brazil so they think they are Brazilian and can support them.

Damn right! Nail on the head... i had trials for Colchester once, but when i got rejected, i just turned to freestyle to see if it would improve my touch on the pitch...

and honestly, if England has to rely on Owen, Crouch, and Heskey....then that already proves the quality that England has. These players can't cut it at the top level as strikers. Rooney is good, but has nothing positive around him. Of all offensive players on England, only Rooney and Gerrard could probably cut it. The rest of the team needs to be revamped.

Stewart Downing if awful. Lampard is inconsistent. Beckham is done. Is Joe Cole alive? etc, etc.

Have you seen Owens and Crouchs international goals record? Need to check that and then tell me they can't cut it.  Beckham is not done by any means, he still has a lot to offer. My England team would be this:

you havent underachieved, you have just done as good as the level of your players allows you to do...
