Interview with FX
« on: Jun 16, 2009, 09:39: PM »
A short interview i had with Freestyle Master FX. The interview wasn't meant to be too formal so tend to enjoy it guys

DJK: how does it feel to be the one and only FX
 Fx: i dont feel anything
 Fx: its only a nickname
Fx: like other guy with other name
 DJK: ok question 2
DJK: what made you begin your freestyle quest
Fx: first video of soufiane touzani
DJK: as many others, he helped many people start freestyling
 Fx: yehh
DJK: great guy wouldnt u say so?
Fx: to tell the truth i met to him only once he was okay in that time ..
 DJK: ok question 3
DJK: your thoughts on winning RBSS Hungary and being a part of the epic battle against Rocco?
 Fx: dont understand
Fx: what i think about my wins over rocco ?
 DJK: yes
Fx: i felt pain in my legs, they were tired end of the champion. i was very tired also , but i had fortune and i could do nice combos in the final too.
DJK: yes...about that patw combo? what was going through your head before u did it?
Fx: i said '' fx you must to do this if you want to be the winner''
DJK: looks like it paid off in the end
 Fx: yea
DJK: next question do you have any advice to the new and young freestylers?
Fx: they should watch videos and learn from them like ''learn from the best or die like the rest''
DJK: "D so what you are saying is learn from freestyle masters by watching their videos?
Fx: watch the movies how they do the tricks and these thoughts will help in the future ...
 Fx: maybe
DJK: next question FX, what is next in your future?
Fx: to join to the army and practice a lot for rbss final in south africa
DJK: so you are training for the army by doing many pushups?
Fx: also and they will sponsor me so i will not have problem to practice freestyle skills , i will have enough time
DJK: yes the soliders must appreciate freestyle
DJK: What is your favorite hobby besides freestyle?
Fx: i like to hear music , play on pc games , sometimes go to fishing , and the best to get a lot of girlsss!!!!
DJK: Fishing is an interesting hobby wouldnt u agree and girls must love the patw...it must take their heart away
 Fx: sometimes
DJK: do you have any siblings?
 DJK: (brother/sister)
 Fx: yehh
 Fx: 5 brother
 Fx: 1 sister
Fx: we are 7 like the devils
DJK: any other freestylers in the family?
 Fx: only football players
 DJK: so sad...
Fx: they can not do so hard tricks than me
DJK: you can teach them and be a good brother of course
 Fx: they are too old
DJK: yes legs will break in patw try
DJK: what do you think of DC sponsoring your freestyle? Fx: its okay something for something
DJK: they are popular here in the United States
 DJK: (DC)
 DJK: very big company
Fx: yea here also in the skate world
DJK: and now is great to see in freestyle
 Fx: yea
DJK: what is your favorite food/drink?
Fx: one of my favorite food is cheeseburger the other chicken in honey , i like chinese foods , drinks , cola juice ..
DJK: you must be getting hungry talking about such foods
 Fx: hihi
 Fx: bread with fat
Fx: and a little bit onion
DJK: next question, what is your one most memorable freestyle moment?
 Fx: i have more
DJK: please feel free to tell
Fx: like first tatw , first patw , and nice to thinking about when i had a lot of inspiration and my days were the freestyle from wake up to the sleep
DJK: do you still have the same inspiration with freestyle or has it declined or gone back a little from when you started it?
Fx: back so when i started freestyle i just wanted to do normal easy tricks next to football to be rock on the football field. After when i stopped football i had a lot of inspiration what i have got from other freestylers from better freestylers. but when i could do their tricks my inspirations is lost i was not so interest about them. right now i just play without inspiration.
DJK: quite sad to hear...but yes you have surpassed some of your inspirations which must be an amazing feeling
 Fx: yes its good feeling
DJK: Last question FX, If you could tell one thing to the entire freestyle world out there, what would it be?
Fx: nobody can not live from freestyle so go to the school !!!!!!!!
DJK: FX it was nice holding this interview with you. i enjoyed it and i thank you for taking your time to answer these questions. Good Luck from all freestylers...if you need it

-Don't break combos.
-Don't use crossovers to save combos.

He seems pretty unmotivated. Like freestyle is something he do because he have to, not because he enjoy it. Of course I might be wrong, but it seems like that in the interview.

Yes, it is. If you do freestyle for more than 3 years, it will turn into the same for you I think. (not to all but still)

I'm surprised how Dan didn't notice the double negation.
Anyways, just because he wasn't able to do it, doesn't mean other people can't. I think everyone of us can name quite a few people who've made it.

And about the motivation issue, maybe he expected more from freestyle and those expectations didn't come true for him. But I don't believe that people lose motivation after 3 years of freestyling, I think it's about how you experience it.

To learn to succeed, you must first learn to fail.
It's what you do that counts, but it's how you do it which separates you from the rest.
You can't have creativity unless you leave behind the bounded, the fixed, all the rules.
