i think it's just a general fan thing.  you see it all over the world.  most supporters are american born and bred anyway.  first, second, etc. generation hyphenated americans tend to support their "home-country."
true I guess. But even second and third generation americans tend to feel ties towrd their 'home-country.' Yeah I guess unless a team is awesome, fans will continue to criticize.

I'm merging this topic with the US - Argentina one.

As far as the game goes, what the hell was the referee thinking with that US red card?! :saywhat:

Not a bad game. The best part about it was the packed stadium, the atmosphere, and the quality players Argentina called up.

"The reason why he said he gave me a second yellow was for throwing the ball to a teammate of mine," Mastroeni said. "It was really strange because they were making a substitution and it wasn't like they could play the ball fast or anything."

He threw the ball to his team mate after the foul that happened right before the red (Edu foul)?

omg!!since argentina has coco basile as a coach..they are going down...he is putting players where they cant show their light as much as possible...tht really sucks...i remember jose pekerman(argentinean coach before basile) tht his philosofy was to play the match putting the players where the more confortable they felt....pekermans tactic was all about freedom(you know what i mean) and basile's tactic is too structured in my opinion...
