The only help sits will give you is more endurance type strength.
Don't expect too see huge abs or anything like that :)

hahahaha. emmanuel works on his abs. and he was more into lowers
sits might make the abs a bit strong (maybe). but if you want to have abs that people can SEE. sits is not the way to achieve that :)

To get abs you need to burn fat, freestyle helps in that way but you also have to do correct ab-exercises. Depending on what type of abs you want.. flat like a runner or deep "cliffs" like a body builder you have to do the correct training.

All you need to do is dedicate yourself a little bit and look up facts.

That's because they have low body fat.
If you want abs like theres eat a calorie deficient diet and do cardio. 12 X your weight in pounds = the amount of calories you want to eat per day or less.
You don't need to do sit-ups on anything like that. Good luck.

Depends on your body composition. You can be a fat, flabby bastard at 75 kg or very athletic at 85 kg. :)

Yeah as Miran said, it depends on your body structure.. I thought 75 might be average.

Your hight and build doesn't matter. Get your body fat % down to 10% and you'll see your abs.

if u keep your feet off the ground while doing combos and x overs you will be working your abs  more ! because you tend to contract your
abdominal area more and put more pressure. Having a low fat % around that area helps as well for more definition.

Of course sits are good for your abs, not to mention the core muscles beneath your abs.  How could they not be?

Is it a complete abdominal workout, though?  No, and I wouldn't completely substitute doing sits for other ab/core exercises.  You're smart to even think of health benefits... cheers.

How? He was asking if sits are good for abs in an aesthetic way, not functional.

Because you're exercising all these muscles when controlling a ball, switching to sole juggles, fast leg movements, etc.  You're exercising the hell out of them, and logically the result, over time, will be "nicer abs."   You couldn't imagine strong, well exercised core/ab muscles to be anything but cut, trim and aesthetically correlative to their fitness, right?

Sadly, it doesn't work the way you think.
I don't want to go in to detail, but do some research or PM me and you'll find your answer (and by research I don't mean look for products marketed to "YOU WANT AWESOME ABS??? YOU NEED ABS BLASTER PRO REVOLUTION")

@gkikas - sits - are not going to give you good abs - because you can't get abs just working out them
sits are a cardio activity - besides that - you need the actual abs exercise like crunches
and that's not even enough - because the key to getting good abs is reducing your body fat to a certain per cent - which can be achieved by right dieting
what you are writing is complete bs, srry
