Not Pato, not yet. I would say Tevez as well.

firstly about rooney and ronaldo being the best attacking force in the world... why not look at the stats...

Rooney-Ronaldo-Tevez - 57 goals

RVN - Raul - Robinho - 43 goals

Messi-Henry-Eto'o-Ronaldinho - 45 goals

Abebayor-Eduardo-Van Persie - 41 goals

Toni - Klose - Ribert - 38 goals

and considering Rooney isn't and out and out striker, he has scored 8 prem goals in 17 games, just below 1 goal every other game, also jn all competions 13 goals in 27 games....so again just below 1 goal every other game... and he also has created 9 goals so ..where the last 3 seasons he created 14 and 16...

not to mention last season he scored 23 goals... and the season before scored 19

and not to mention Man Utd have never lost with him in the team...

still dont believe rooney is a great player, why not ask one of the best that ever lived Maradonna....

"I don't know too well how the election is done but I think that Rooney is better than Kaka," Maradona explained in El Grafico.

....

Former World Cup winner Diego Maradona says Wayne Rooney is better than Kaka, Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

The Argentinian ace doesn’t believe AC Milan midfielder Kaka should have won the prestigious Ballon d’Or award, but neither does he think second-placed Cristiano Ronaldo deserved the accolade.

Instead, the Argentina legend reckons Ronaldo’s United team-mate Wayne Rooney has a far stronger claim to the title of best footballer in the world.

lets look at some of the awards he has won aswell

    * FA Premier League Player of the Month: February 2005, December 2005, March 2006 , November 2007
    * PFA Team of the Year: 2005-06
    * Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year: 2005-06
    * FIFPro World Young Player of the Year: 2005
    * PFA Young Player of the Year: 2005, 2006
    * PFA Fans' Player of the Year (Premiership): 2006
    * Match of the Day's Goal of the Season: 2004-05, 2006-07
    * BBC Sports Personality of the Year Young Personality: 2002
    * UEFA European Championship 2004 Team of the Tournament

Who cares what Maradona thinks? Why does his opinon mean anything? He doesn't think Kaka should have won because he's Brazilian :dontknow:

That's a cute little list of awards that Rooney has won. It's a shame Messi has won far more things than that. Should we even talk about what Henry, Ronaldinho, and Eto'o have won? Rooney is lucky his teamate Ronaldo is amazing this season. Are you forgeting the fact that Ronaldo only needs 3 goals to tie the most a United player has ever scored in a season? No wonder this statistic of 57 goals is so jacked up. And considering the time that Messi has been out Injured, Ronaldinho literally just getting back into form this season, and Eto'o out for over a month in Africa? And before Africa, Eto'o was out for a few months. Barcalona played the majority of the season with Henry - Giovani - Bojan, with Messi sprinkled in from time to time. Don't come and try to tell me that Rooney is better than Eto'o, Messi, Ronaldinho, Drogba, and even Fernando Torres in his first season in England has done more than he has. Torres is much more prolific than him. Not an out and out striker? Remember a guy on Arsenal who didn't play as an out and out striker? Right, that was Thierry Henry himself. Always coming into the midfield to collect the ball. He had himself a few golden boot seasons at that.

You are fooling yourself if you think Rooney is great because he has the best player in the world next to him supplying him. Who wouldn't be scoring the goals that Ronaldo supplies? I don't understand what it is about Rooney. When Beckham and Ruud used to link up countless times at United (not to mention Ruud would score 20+ a season on multiple occasions), no one would talk about Ruud being the best player in the world. Maradona is a drug addict, and I don't see why you would pay attention to anything that comes out of his mouth.

firstly maradonnas "opinion" was put in there to show what all of our opinions mean, and if you think his mean nothing.... which i was hoping someone would say... then it shows mine, yours etc  really doesn't mean anything either...... but what I was doing was listing facts of why i believe you underrate rooney.

How many goals a season did henry get at rooneys age... if you are going to compare people to rooney i think you have to compare people in his ages range rather then people in the peak of there career considering rooney will not be there for 5 years or so. The person you would then compare him to would be Messi who has 15 goals in all competitions... Rooney has 13...pretty similare record this season.... and messi also has world class players who supply him with goals.

And its true when you kind of say ronaldo brings out the best in rooney, but that is what world class players do, and I am sure if you asked ronaldo he would say Rooney brings out the best in him.

But when you seem to be arguing against the likes of alex fergie...capello....etc.. and I haven't once argued that at this stage in his career Messi is slightly ahead of rooney with out a doubt.

and i also never stated that rooney was better then some of the players you mentioned...so i can let you argue with yourself about that.

But lets be honest elite... the reason you dont like rooney has nothing to do with his playing ability, its because you dont like us english people calling him a great talent and a very good player, you dont like man utd, and you dont like the way he tour arsenal apart a few weeks back
