my only problem with that intro by dingo is that they blackout twice, the trails should remain not go into a blank black screen
of course great job coz I can't do that but just saying it will look more pro if they don't disappear but fade/dissolve instead or something.

ideas can be a million, what matters is who implements them. the BF competition was successful cuz of Oli. Adi if you want this, then you need to approach out to every freestyler out there individually and ask them politely to do stuff for you. making a topic here wont help.
The nitrophosphate process (also known as the Odda process) was a method for the industrial production of nitrogen fertilizers invented by Erling Johnson in the city of Odda, Norway around 1927.

lets take an successful community as an example: Russia. Why does it work so well? because there is a competitive atmosphere and everybody wants to be on a good spot in their list ( Baruzdin posted it some time ago i think). Then its important that all the big name freestylers (ARS MP German Akim etc ) to join the competition. So if we had a list like the russians there must be at least 5-10 really good freestylers to compete in that competition. Another point is that we need an admin who either is a freestyler or the freestyle scene can identify with. So Adi you need one who has these abilities because you dont have them. Furthermore its requiered that this forum loses the connection to football since 95 percent of all freestylers want to be freestylers and not football-clowns.

Another problem is facebook. This place worked much better when there was no facebook because beyondfootball was the only place where freestylers could contact other freestylers. There is not much you can do against facebook but as allready mentioned you have to use facebook to promote the site.

Then i think some events would be good. like a certain time where interesting freestylers are on the site to answer questions to newbies or something like that.

These are my ideas but we need somebody to realize them ( like Oli ). IMO the only user to realize this would be ethan, Maybe with some help of tom.

This site has lost its connection with football a long time ago.  There is only one forum for it now and only about 5 posts are in there a day.  The main site has nothing to do with football either.

It's difficult to find another admin to run the freestyle section.  I thought Dan might be interested but I don't think he really is.  He has helped the forum for sure, but I don't think he feels like organizing comps and spreading word about the forum.  I'm all for Ethan or Tom but I'm not sure if they are up for it.

Dingo, can you post the download link in this thread when you have the final tweaks done.  I can then make a sticky topic so everyone knows about it.

Thanks!

What if we did a "Throwback Freestyle Competition" where we invite all the top freestylers so send in their video.  I don't think it's realistic to create multiple rounds as most top freestylers won't bother sending multiple videos in.

We can invite Palle, Abbas Farrid, Skora and some of the other top freestylers who used to post on here before.  We can tell them about the motivations for this and we could give away a prize to a winner.  We can create some space on the forum and site to highlight these videos.  Anyone can enter and submit only one video.

It's just a matter of figuring out how to create the knock-out system to pick out the winner.  Maybe we can create seeds so Palle and the top freestylers would be ranked as #1 seeds.  Their videos would go against lower seeds and winners would go through.  We'd do this all the way until the final two.  I'm just not sure if it would get boring to vote in each round since people would have already seen the videos.

Any ideas on this?

This is a legendary post.

I am all for helping out but as Max pointed out, the forum isn't really going anywhere until major changes are made. The old days of BF have gone (when big freestylers like Palle etc posted), just give up on that, it won't happen again. What I can't really think of is what changes need to occur to bring back beyond football, and i don't think its anything like competitions.

I reckon there just needs to be some good posts which start some interesting discussions. Lately whenever a mildly interesting argument breaks out on this forum, the mods instantly either lock the thread or tell people to stay on topic blah blah blah

What was so good about the old bf? 100 page arguments between people.

A nice thing to do would be to go back to the early pages of freestyle chat and pick out some legendary threads and get them going again to show how much the sport has changed. 'Most hated fsers' thread from 2008 where Azuns name came up the most, i am pretty sure not one person would mention him again...

If I just repeat a popular opinion people will like me more. It seems to be working, I'd better continue despite being entirely incorrect.
