De Rossi Slammed For Father-In-Law Dedication

The Italian Police Association(SAP) have slammed Roma and Italy star Daniele De Rossi for the dedication he made to his father-in-law after the win against Georgia on Wednesday evening.

The Giallorossi star bagged a brace to fire La Nazionale to three precious points for the Group 8 world cup qualifying campaign.

After the game De Rossi dedicated the win to his father-in-law Massimo Pisnoli, who was murdered in Rome last month.

The Police are currently investigating the murder and a man has been arrested.

The Italian Police Association has slammed the midfielder for the dedication as they believe it was irresponsible and that it could influence the investigation into the crime.

"We expected more cautious words from someone like De Rossi, who could influence millions of people, given the fact that there is still an on-going investigation into what happened," read a statement released by the SAP (Sindacato Autonomo Di Polizia).

"Considering that it is September 11, De Rossi could have dedicated the win to the victims of terrorism or even to the Georgian’s who have been suffering from the recent conflicts.

"A more cautious approach would have been better but we can, in part, understand that he has lost a relative. However, this situation could have been avoided."

De Rossi is unlikely to get into trouble following his comments but the Police Association argue that what he said may affect the legal proceedings regarding the murder.

this is bullshit in my opinion players should be allow to dedicate anything to anyone
the same thing happened when Cahill dedicated his goal to his brother who got jailed for god sake these players have hearts

i dont see how he could get in trouble

he can dedicate the game to whoever the hell he wants

y do we always need to be politically correct?

Screw those cops... let the man have some emotions. If they don't catch the killers, it won't be because of De Rossi, it will be because the cops are shit over there. Sounds to me like they are just setting themselves up for an excuse.

cops like to keep things hush-hush during an investigation

this is reasonable enough.  maybe a little over-the-top, but i can see where they are coming from
