Injury
« on: Jun 09, 2012, 10:04: PM »
I am not sure whether it's a right thread, but I just wanted to ask, is it just me getting this toe injury 4th time in the row. I am not a doctor but I will try to explain what it is, basically something grows from the side of the toe nail, which looks really nasty, and when I try kick a ball, it hurts so much, and to get rid of it, I need to have an operation, which means they take the nail off, and I can not freestyle like for 1,5-2 months, which is really sad. I am just wondering did anyone have that before, because it's starting to get really annoying, and I am not sure whether it's from freestyle or something else.. :017:

Have you asked the doctor if he/she knows a likely cause for this?

Most likely you have a bruise underneath your toe nail. The stuff underneath it is blood. You need to drain it. I recommend you go to a doctor to have them do it for you, but you can do it yourself quite easily. This will relieve the pressure and pain. The toe nail will eventually fall off on it's own.

As far as medical questions in general. Even though I actually did answer this, you should be going to a doctor, not asking people on a forum. We are not doctors, so we could be telling you something wrong.

Jason, the parts above make it seem like something else and something more serious.  With a bruised nail stuff doesn't grow on the side.  Also, what's this about surgery?  Did you see a doctor and they told you you'd need surgery?  If so, I'd do what the doctor says.

Also, lets see a picture of your toe... :pics:

It's not something growing most likely. It's just the blood spreading throughout the toe. I've had this bad a few times, and the pain is very bad. I felt like I could barely walk on my toe, yet kick a ball with it. I was told later that it should be drained by poking a hole in the middle of the toe nail. Eventually, the toe nail falls off. Really gross stuff.

The key point though is that going to a doctor is priority. Don't ever take medical advice online.

I had it 3 times on my left toe, and I went to the doctors and they said I need a little operation, and they took my nail off, this time it's on my right toe, I didn't have it for 4 years now, which is really sad...because I need to do many freestyle jobs, and it's really hard with this injury, but I am not going doctors in the UK, because it's pointless, they never do anything to be honest, so I am going to a different country to get it done. This time I will ask why do I get this, I was just wondering if any other freestylers get this injury sometimes..
