That time of year again when the fifa ballon d'or longlist/shitlist is announced. Abidal being on this list proves that this is a popularity contest

Forlan and suarez were shit last year, except in copa america. Also, cesc and sneijder were injured a lot this year. And well, alonso is amazing but i think a guy like modric or bale should be placed ahead of him.

What about cavani, marcelo, mario gomez, vidic?

8 Barcelona players?!  I can only think of 4-5 that deserve a spot:  Messi, Xavi, Fabregas, Iniesta, Villa. 

How is Abidal and Alves ahead of Pedro?
