Lowers - wrong beginnings.
« on: Feb 23, 2011, 06:03: AM »
After reading Leha's tutorials which tells what to do, i was wondering what do beginners do wrong?
What according to you is a waste of time and should be prevented by beginners?
The nitrophosphate process (also known as the Odda process) was a method for the industrial production of nitrogen fertilizers invented by Erling Johnson in the city of Odda, Norway around 1927.

I think one of the mistakes beginner sometimes make is that they try to procrastinate and try to do harder tricks when they didn't even get consistent at tricks at lower levels yet. For example one trying to do an Eldo ATW while didn't even master HMATW.

I'm seeing that quite often these days.

To learn to succeed, you must first learn to fail.
It's what you do that counts, but it's how you do it which separates you from the rest.
You can't have creativity unless you leave behind the bounded, the fixed, all the rules.

agreed, a lot of people skip the basic combos and try to get straight to the hard stuff.... (I include myself in that but i have reasons)

Sometimes it's a lack of knowledge. When I first started freestyling, the only non basic freestyle move I knew was latw and htatw.
That gave me a really shitty start for the first year or so.

-Don't break combos.
-Don't use crossovers to save combos.
-If you're a new freestyler looking to improve, check the stickys in the help and advice section.

this is true - sometimes you get too carried away with the basics - while other tricks are important too

well the wrong way to start with lowers - is to start with uppers and think that 53 rprolls np is as hard as a good lower combo
it's like comparing 113 atws by some australian kid midget and 113 combo by FX
start with lowers - stick to lowers - no gay shit - that's the way to go

Or you could let people do what they enjoy, since that's what a sport/hobby is imo all about.
