I have adobe premiere pro cs3 and cs5, and i don't understand shit...i have used sony vegas 9.0 before and it was good, but it lags sooo much and takes forever to render vids sometimes. so in terms of that adobe is better. but which one can make better effects im not sure because im still learning adobe

I use Adobe Premiere CS3, After Effects and Photoshop when i edit my videos. It's all about what you are used to. Premiere is a really good editing software, but to much overkill if you just want to put some clips together and add some music. Then it work with any basic video editio out there, like Movie maker for an example.

After Effects is way to overkill for you. If you want to make some cool transitions in your video, then Premiere can handle that for you.

And to make a good video have NOTHING to do whit what software you have. People that are good editors can make amazing videos in Movie Maker if they want to.

very true.  but sony vegas crashes too much, adobe programs don't. vegas is easier to throw some stuff together tho, effects/transitions/music/etc.
