Quote
"I think that I never really got a chance in the DFB team, although I delivered strong performances in my club. I don't want to reopen the sore. I've thought about playing for the US for a longer time. A new period of life will start."

"When I played against Gladbach, Michael Bradley asked me whether I'd like to play for the US. I told him that I would like to. But I thought that it wasn't possible because of my U21 appearances. But according to the new FIFA regulations, I know now, that it will work."

yeah. it's going to open a lot of things up for us. allow michael bradley to play his more natural two-way role or insert a jose torres (pachuca), feilhaber (agf), or adu that won't necessarily track back/get caught in possession

It's a nice pick-up for the US.  His name wasn't German enough anyways... should've been more like JOSEF JÜRGEN.

Poor guy broke his leg as soon as he joined the Americans.  Seems even God's against US soccer.
