Post-World Cup Reactions
« on: Jul 29, 2010, 08:50: AM »
Everyone enjoy it?

I thought it was great.  Kind of depressing it's over but at least we have league football coming up.

I'm proud of Germany's success with such a young team.  There is more to come from them!

England doing poorly was also nice to see...

My predicitons before the World Cup were:

1. Holland
2. Germany
3. Spain

I got the top 3 right on despite no European nation ever winning it outside of Europe.  I picked all 3 European nations so that was a bit risky.  Too bad I didn't get them right on.

Disgusting calls, shit refs, too many divers/cheaters.
It was hard to enjoy the matches because of the above reasons.

Was dissappointed with amount of empty seats in the stadiums, I mean it is the WC

other than that it was just ok

world cup was ok was expecting more. the group stage games did not deliver, very small amount of goals and very small amount of wonder goals. but thankfully the tournament got better towards the knockout stage and goals and their quality increased.

Good world cup, not excellent,

Good points: young teams going good, nice attacking football by some teams

Bad point: player get fouled and rolls around for 10 mins, no long range goals beside van bronkhoust, 3 freekicks in 64 matches thats a disgrace, boring soccer by some teams

Yeah, the diving was quite shocking especially from some of the Spanish, Italian, and Dutch players... Iniesta and Robben... wooooow.

oh of course, how could I forget!? Gyan Asamoah's a beast!
also, the comment 'no long range goals'? muntari? Forlan? just that match is enough, ghana vs uruguay. great free kick by forlan and extremely long range by muntari
I've seen other long range shots in the WC but I can't remember now. Forlan's done a couple.

France really embarrased themselves, and who's idea was it to make Evra the captain?  What a joke... he seems like a little bitch that's too scared to say anything in front of anyone.  I've never thought of him as a leader when watching him play for Man U.
