Wazup people!
It was a long time since i was here. So maybe you guys wont know who i am, but im Tom from Sweden. Im the development manager of the freestyle news website
footfreestyle.comI have now set up another website covering the busking part of freestyle, and other sorts of busking too. And i would like you guys to go to the website and just tell me what you think about the idea. Right now there is not that much of content, but there will be added more posts every day.
The idea of this website came three years ago when i started to busk in a small town in Sweden. I have been doing busking for a living since that day and that has give me a huge amount of experience in the topic. So i will share the most useful tips in this blog.
Check it out at

In this walkthrough, I will guide you through something that is very important if you want to become a successful street artist. The focus in this post will totally be on something I like to call “social proof“.
So what is social proof?
Social proof is when you as an artist succeeds to draw attention to yourself, entirely thanks to your already existing customers. The customers in this case are the people who stand and watch you, and in the end also adds a penny into your money bowl.
The math is simple: If there is nobody that is looking at you, then a very small percentage of other people will stop for checking out your performance. However, if you already have a large circle around you, new people will stop by to see what is going on there.
Just think about this: If there are two blogs about the exact same topic, and have the exact same content. But one blog has 30,000 + visitors each day and a large amount of comments, and the second blog has 20 pieces of visitors each day and no comments at all – which blog would YOU like to visit? Most of us would choose to go to the blog with already very many visitors.
How do I use this trick?
It can be difficult in the beginning to get really good handle on how to proceed in order to succeed with this, but you should remember that its really important to hold the crowd of audience you already have as long as possible.
To start succeed with this, try have a diverse and LONG schedule to not boring the audience. Then you have to get the audience to do the advertising for you. This can be done by having a so-called “applause break” where you show the audience that you want applause. Because nothing attracts as much as other people positive opinions about anything. And if a person that is just passing by is hearing much applauses, i will garantee you that this person will have a hard time to just pass by. He will for sure at least stop by to see what happens. And this can, in the best moment, generate money for you.
So this was the stuff that i was thinking about right now. There may be some confusing parts in this post but just leave a comment and i will for sure reply to you!
