Hi there,
Usually soft balls are better suited for freestyle purposes. However, some guys prefer to freestyle using a hard ball. That's just a matter of preference.
However, if you're just starting out to learn to freestyle, then I would suggest you go with a soft ball.

I totally recommend those balls, because most of them were tried first hand by me.
