Title: Running
Post by: Alex17 on Mar 19, 2009, 04:04: AM
Just curious, how many of you guys run?
I freestyle mostly eVery day, but i like running, and run aswell.

I tend to get really tired after running, that i can't freestyle after.
I run cross country, and yet freestyle.

I stopped running competitively you see

now my focus is on soccer and writing

Ya, I know. It consumes too much of my time. I don't weight lift much though, I'm about as strong as Martha Stewart.

nope, you are not alone. i never go for runs. i do more than my fair share of running, because of the amount of football i play. if you play or freestyle long enough you don't need to do actual running. just running is far to boring for me to do.

I try to exceed my physical limits and do track, exercising outside of soccer and freestyle helps me very much.

you have alot to learn my friend. in a football match you run on average 4miles a game.  this is more than enough running to keep yourself fit. also in match you have changes of direction and pace which improves your quickness and agility which is just as important as endurance. most people who run just run for distance, and do not do enough quickness and agility training. doing track is fine if you enjoy doing it, but its not completely necessary to add this to your workout.  i used to run 7miles a day, and i'm actually fitter now than i was than. the only real excercise i do outside of football right now is kickboxing for endurance and upper body exercise.

yeah imagestyles, if you're more interested in soccer than you are in running, you should focus more on interval training

I do. We have to do lots of different kinds of Work outs for track, even in long distance. We have agility training before the daily run in both soccer and track.
