Title: Club or Country
Post by: G-Man on Sep 06, 2008, 06:00: AM
What would you rather see your club team do the treble or see your country win the world cup? they did some poll in englnad, and almost all of scousers said Club, (I wasnt sure where to post this by the way club or International)

country obviously...

if I wre a player from Canada and I had to choose between playing for a sick club and playing for a country, I'd choose club, because the Canadian Men's National team is a poorly coached shithole and the CSA is ridiculously corrupt  :cursing:

I would have to say country as well. There's a bit more passion when you country plays. Now imagine if Bosnia won the World Cup. Hell, qualifying for the World Cup would be better than a treble for Bayern.

country! I don't understand how a club can mean more, most players nowadays don't actually come from the region they represent, and champions league etc. happens every year, the world cup is only once every 4th

depends on who u support i guess.
if its a lower league club,  i doubt very much that southampton will do the treble seeming as their not even in the prem.

If my country ever won the world cup I would wear my flag like a super heroes cape for the rest of my life.

Its obvious that everyone will say country because they aren't put under the amount of pressure that the players sustain by club you probably would get different answers

how about if the question would be asked in this fashion.
Imagine you player for a big club (filled with injuries) in the finals of the CL and your country (of the same stature) needed you for a qualifier game to the world cup who would  you choose?

I could never see that happening, but if it were possible I'd choose CL final ofcourse.

Hmm, that's really hard, but I'd still say CL final. There are tons of qualifiers.

I don't want to be the only one answering, so please someone answer.

I've changed my mind.. I'd say Qualifiers because it's tough with a little country to get an opportunity like that again..

I'd play in neither and say that I loved both my club and my country too much to choose one over the other. The media would love that.

why would I retire? the fans would still love me, and I would be at the top of my game. Alternately, I could fake injury...

That's actually a good one, faking injury, but if you ever got caught and it got out, you'd be named a coward for years.
