I agree with this guy. I hope Guss puts Spain in there place like he did in 02. The only remaining over hyped team from the beginning of the tournament. They can go along with home Portugal and Holland. Russia Turkey final would be beautiful.

I'm glad we are all on the page on this one. I, too, am rooting for the Russians. They are playing some great football. I have a feeling this is the year for the Russians. I think they'll win just like Zenit won the UEFA Cup.

just because they were weak against italy? the rest of the tournament they were awesome. same for holland, nobody expected them to come to the quarters and when they reached them they automatically had to become champions otherwise they suck. i hope spain will kick the traitor's ass

Russians r playing great and if they win Euro this will really put Russia on the Footballing map and people will look at their league as an oppourtunity. They play great so i wouldnt be suprised

no,seriously,I'm for Spain. It's time for them to do something big, really big, like winning the Euro. It would be great watching them kicking Germany (btw, Spanish journal Marca suggested to all Spaniards to shave their heads if they win and it would be great to see entire Spain bald :biggrin:)
Spain is playing well on this Euro, actually they always play well and I think it would be better that Spain-Russia was the finals...

today we didn't play soccer at all, it was typical game of russian, no movement, no passion, we had nothing to do against spaniards...

What, that bullshit pinging of the ball that gets nowhere? They were able to break down the Russians but they are still overdoing it with the worthless passing. Their best chances came of crosses from wide positions. Rather than cutting back from wing positions, they need to deliver the ball into the dangerous areas in the box. They'd be even more successful. Teams like Italy and Germany find ways to slow down Spain.

neither Russia nor Italy could get the ball very often, and Spain had them chasing their passes, causing their opponents to wear themselves out. Thats why Spain usually scores late. Italy put tone of people behind the ball so Spain couldn't penetrate, but something tells me that Germany won't do that.

Spain didn't get through Italy because of the reason you listed. That's their problem. They don't get through many good, strong, and organized teams. If you think Spain's passing and possession is the best, then think that. Realistically though, they don't create enough with their posession. Too often, it's just worthless and leads to nothing.
Germany's defense is not very good, so there will be room for Torres to do something. On the other hand, their midfield is excellent if Ballack plays. If Ballack plays, you won't see that same comfort in Spain's midfield. Fabregas won't be as dominant, trust me.

in terms of aesthetics and team play, they did play some of the most beautiful soccer I've seen. Clearly you're thinking of a Brazilaian style, which is a different kind of brilliance
