same lol - i want to finish this semester with good grades and not to waste my time over the winter break but to do sth productive

It's better to hint parents on what you need than to let them buy you total nonsense... Because they will buy you something anyway if you're spending your Christmas with them... At least at our home.

My parents always give me either money, or give me something I like.
I buy presents for my parents. If I have more money, I buy them more expensive gift, if I have less money, I buy them not so expensive gift. It's the least I can do for them.
