describing this as 'good' imo is even disrespectful.
the comments (not just you) leave are just so un-movitating and they are the reason not many good videos are being released. i also comment like that because the forum lacks the spark it used to have when people used argue over every little thing and videos would reach 100 comments and when that happened the whole fs community was much happier...because people said what they really thought.

You dont need to kick each others ass when you argue, but it was fun with this type of arguing about who had the right and so on was going on,... Many ppl that have argued here on the forum are good friends in real life and if not they dont hate each other...

With some positive feedback that motivates people as well as (sometimes) criticism that is constructive. The arguments on this forum are fun and they aren't causing any genuine hatred between fs'ers so people should really say what they actually think!

this is very true in fact. but i would like to say that if we speak about that german's video, i can't disagree with lis - that ematw did look akward - besides mp commented on russian forum mentioning the jump back instead of co and ars pointed out tiny monta - so i don't think lis's comment on that videos is anyhow disrespectful or wrong

The point of this topic is to save Ethan some trouble and to keep threads onn topic. He seems to be repeating him self over and over in random threads leading to many off topic comments. Now's his chance to speak up.

you can remove comments here. but videos barely get any comments on here..So maybe the arguing can bring out the real feeling in true words <3
I think most freestylers dont have good english skills, so to show appreciation they make the same comments. (amsti tries hard on youtube tho )
TF makes the most sensible comments imo, and he is from England.
I think English skills are a big factor.

I don't need your respect, i will earn it the proper way by not being some suck up cunt. I'm left speechless on how you guys respect someone who is practically giving you head.

great post macca - i will point out what i loved about it. it had an element of criticism to it, in that it told me to shut up. However he said my name which i like as it showed that u meant it directly at me rather than at LIS, Tupac, tbc, Reynoldz, Blazej or Gustav.
@LIS i dont actually think saying 'that was amazing' is sufficient as i assure u that majority of the time when skora/rocco/azun or whoever releases a video they DO read the comments and when u consider the training hours they have put in to achieve the level which they have achieved and u have enjoyed their video the least u can do is take literally 1 minute of your time to write 3 sentences or something saying what u really thought of the video.
forums work and stay active because people say their real opinions, which is likely to differ to someone elses who can then challenge the other persons opinion and that is what makes it fun no...? and that is what is happening right now!

Thanks alot honey! I maybe agree with the older/better freestylers posts because they have such a longer experiance than me, they know how to do, they know how to say it, and often I agree with those words. To show people on for example BF that I am involved in freestyle.
And to be honest, I think that you are more hated on BF than me.
And you are also more pathetic than me when making your stupid videos that isn't fun at all.

The S3 flash mob video with dans amazing combo (and yes, it was amazing), where he did atw-cross-atw in the end in order to do 2 360's.. then your ONLY comment on the video was that you were going to puke because of the crossover. Like wtf. How are you going to earn respect in that way. ... and there is are many other examples..
and then, sometimes you come up with the stupidest posts 'trying' to act funny. Apparently you want to spit little kids in their faces and circle kick them to the ground :PDT_Armataz_01_37: ...
so let's summarize this. What Ethan is getting at, is that once upon a time, people actually put time and effort to comment on each others videos. No matter whether it was a beginner level 1 minute training video, or a Legend - Quatro Styles 10 minute production the majority of comments consisted of at least a few sentences explaining the stuff that was a pleasure to watch but also mentioning things that need improvement.
Relating this topic to myself, I used to get 3-4 pages of comments on every single video I made. The difference in skill level I had then compared to the level I have acquired now is absolutely huge, yet my latest video struggled to get 2 pages if I remember correctly.
Its obviously not all about comments, but over the last few months/year the whole freestyle community seems to have completely lost the fun spark it used to have. The entire mentality of new freestylers has shifted dramatically from making really nice videos with well planned out combos, to just trying to throw as many amatw/matw nt in as possible at the complete sacrifice of style. As well as this, freestyles seems to have been squeezed into a tiny box and gives new freestylers the message that hardcore>everything. Because of this, very few are prepared to learn the basics anymore and will do anything to skip the cue. I will often see patw in a video alongside a 10 trick atw htw combo done with horrific style, which imo, is pointless.
I think one of the biggest factors which has resulted in the current state Ethan is talking about, is the introduction of ignorant beginners who are not prepared to shut the fuck up talking nonsense on the internet and train. When I first started, I looked up to people like Palle, Rocco, FX and had full respect for them as freestylers. I remember Rocco and Palle in particular were always willing to reply to any questions I had no matter how retarded and I would always take on board everything that was said. Where as these days, it seems people aren't prepared to listen to advice and have absolutely no respect for those who have been in the game a lot longer than themselves.
Sorry for all the ranting in this post but I had to let it all out!

its absolutely true.. i remember when even I made a decent video, my 2 years of freestyle, it got SIX pages.. now it would struggle to get two. we need to motivate the people who are starting up.. and yeah, nobody seems to respect the legends these days..
the new guys dont even admire rocco palle azun séan etc the way they should.
anyway as someone whos been on this site over 2 years and is an admin, im gonna make a bigger effort starting today to comment on as many vids as possible with some constructive criticism and some good points and i encourage everyone else to do the same. lets not be the ones who let freestyle lose its fun

Then they could learn of their mistakes :)
Its better to comment in a constructive way than write a false comment :)
