Ok.. i have like you know my "spot" to practice (some place in the park next to my house ), and i have been practicing there for about 1 year or something... but i have realised lately that i can´t do the same tricks or combos there and i feel so tired.. and when i meet some friends in some other places or parks to practice i can do almost everything that i want to.. or even when i go to another place in the park i can do some great combos and i feel great
so.. have you felt the same thing? any opinions or something?
-
its all in the mind, mate
if you have skills you will never "lose" them, you may become rusty for lack of practice, but if someone has skills they will always have them
-
I usually practice at the same place aswell and sometimes at other places I can do better but I don't think the places themselves have anything to do with it
Maybe it's just because you don't remember all the good stuff you've done at the regular place since you're there so often
-
i have the same thing, at some places things work more easily than at other places i think, but it could be a thing of my mind ;)
-
when i have time, and the weather is good i go to diffirent places, i think that one place become boring and it mess up with your concretation, but if u choose some new place, u are like 'newcomer' and want to show your best skills in that place...........well my opinion
-
you can also just be 'out of shape' or have too high expectations. when you do an awesome combo you cant expect that you will be able to do it everytime you try
-
When i fs indoor i can do better. Sometimes i can barely do tatw outside.. So it happens sometimes i lose the skill :nopity:

i don't really think that you lose the skill, it is in your head, or u just have bad day :dontknow:

its the same way with me

Wow, I was thinking about this recently, because I just started freestyling again, and I tried to do certain moves and now I can barely do them..

thats not true, one of the principles of training, is known as reversability. This is when, if you take a break or stop doing a certain thing, you reverability effect will take place where you lose skill youve been practising. This can occur in little then 3 or so days.
-
atm i cant do anything in my room but i cant go outside because theres SNOOWW
-
yea iv just restarted and it is wierd. It took me like 5 mins to nail an atw outside atw crossover etc. So yea i gained my skill back quite quickly and i find it easier to freestyle in places that are more open spaced... I think this is because you can have more movement on the ball and are less likely to mess up a combo or particular move etc.

that applies for fitness and strength, like distance running or resistance training, if you lift weights for 10 weeks you will get stronger, but if you stop for 10 weeks your back where you began...
this is due to the physical adaption of your body and would not apply to something like freestyle that is based on skill related aspects of fitness like balance and coordination as these things are determined mainly through mental adaption...
-
The body adapts to its environment. Your right, For example an elderly women maybe all she does everyday is walk around the house wash the pots etc... Where as a freestyler has to train everyday. These would both be different aspects of adaptation. Freestyle is same realy, If you only practise ground moves you will be only good at groundmoves.

Yeah same here i freestyle in 3 spots but when i try to freestyle like down the street i get confused lol i guess im just not used to it and when i freestyle in the city i feel like i can do a lot more stuff i don't know why. :)
-
this is interesting... what frustrates me is the wind more than anything.. if its too windy i literraly cant do an ATW because i play on a really open field and the wind becomes so strong that if u do a headstall it will blow it off...
if u go to a crowded area with ppl u will play better cos u want to show them ur skills
-
ye when its windy its rely annoying because it can mess up your rythum,i practice everyday n when i leave it for about 3 days i have to get bak into things thats me personally, also doess any1 else get relly frustrated when you know what you can do but u just cant pull off the tricks, but on another day u can do everything,i jus dont get it!!!! lol

it was only fortune... u will be able to do this only in some periods if u don't train it... so, I've lost my weak foot tatw for 7 times... you train smth, then it's improved, then u lose this skill, then improve it again, and so on... by little steps u'll learn it... don't give up, my friend ;)
