Head Catch - Freestyle Soccer Trick
To start, place your feet about shoulder width away
to give yourself good support. After that try placing the ball on your forehead.
You should place it just where your hair starts (hairline). Raise your eyebrows
to make a slight dip on your forehead. After you have mastered this, you will no
longer have to raise your eyebrows. When you feel the ball is balanced, take
your hand away. Keep trying until you can balance it on your head for about 15
seconds at least.
After that try throwing it up, just above your head. When the ball comes down,
go down with it as well to soften up the touch of the ball landing on your
forehead. This takes a bit of practice, but it does work.
Once you have mastered that, move on to the next step. Place the ball in a
foot-catch position. Throw it up in the air. If you aren't able to get the ball
up high enough, try meeting the ball in the air by ducking down slightly. This
is harder because you have to straighten out with the ball on your head.
Shoulder Catch - Freestyle Soccer Trick
Start by placing the ball between your neck and
shoulder. By lifting your arm up, on the side where the ball is resting on, you
will make a small dip in your shoulder. Turn your face in the same direction so
that the ball can rest on the side of your face.
Now try throwing the ball just above your shoulder.
Before the ball comes down, go down yourself to soften the landing. So when it
touches your shoulder, raise your arm (making the dip) and turn your face, for
the ball to rest on. You might find it easier to open your legs (a bit more then
shoulder width), to give yourself better support.
Now go out and practice. You'll get it down before
you know it. If you need any further help, post a comment right below this tutorial or visit our freestyle forum.
