As most things in freestyle, live performances too are looked at differently from one freestyler to another. Each freestyle and fan has their own unique taste and preference. In my own opinion, a perfect live performance (LP) is when you are capable of showing your best skills in a flawless and perfect flow.
The goal is to give the crowd a breathtaking view of freestyle by showing how much fun it can be, showing transitions sits, lowers, uppers, and in some cases even ground moves. The goal is not to bore the crowd with ATWs only, but to show them a variety of different moves. A perfect example of this is John Farnworth who is a great performer because he brings the old school tricks and transitions (Mr. Woo) and combines them with some new school moves. To be specific, here is an example:
Another freestyle we can use as an example is Sean. Sean is certainly a different kind of freestyler having essentially created his own path in freestyle performance. His new form of freestyle includes more of a brake ball style, brake dance, block combos, and much more. It can be fun for the audience but we as freestylers sometimes question whether his performances are football freestyle or something else.
Nonetheless, his style is well respected and showcases another side of the sport, which certainly isn't always about hard core combos.
