This topic is dying; it needs some discussion

How are you guys currently working out?

4 day split programs? 3 days strength training 3 days cardio? Are you a weekend warrior? 6 day splits with cardio? No cardio? Only cardio?

Lets hear it

I am working out great. Thank You.
Did biceps and chest today. I am addicted to flys. probably my favorite workout.
I don't do cardio, don't need it yet.
Sometimes you don't feel like working out and instead prefer to eat. Other times its the other way around for me.
After my workout i drank that gainer and crashed for an hour.
Right now im eating spinach with white rice.

shoulder abs
back bi's
chest tris

all cardio and leg work out is saved for freestyle which I lately have done for up to 5 hours daily. With the ammount of freestyle I'm doing I figured I might aswell continue cutting so that's where I'm at right now.

has anyone experienced people at the gym that don't let you workout? for example someone that isnt into bodybuilding today from my school didnt know how to workout and was asking you for help on some workouts. . I was about to start my workout as soon as i walked in he stared at me from some mechanical machine. After doing some of my workout he was at the same machine, i decided to say hi and he asked for some bicep workouts. He didnt have any previous experience in working with free weights. i had to guide him through. the worst part is when someone asks how much weight they should do. i tried to pretend i was working out hard with my head down so he wouldnt interfere with my workout.

That's interesting man. I used to do that too, and I was told to seperate chest and tris because when you are doing chest, you already are working out the triceps, so I changed it to chest and biceps, and shoulders and triceps.
I wanted to try the bulk then cut method, but haven't met anyone who really done it all the way through (they gave up half way through). How is it working out? Are you retaining muscle?

I did it. I had a messy bulk, very dirty, still went great for me and after the cut I was really satisfied. I even gained muscle because my cut was serious for like 12 weeks. I recomend it man, if you can be serious during the diet in terms of cardio and food then you should definately do it.

Yeah that whole discussion. It's different from person to person, some can't do tris after chest and some can't do bi's after back. I couldn't when I started working out but now I have no trouble with it. A lot of IFBB pros have their split like chest and tris, back and bis. Not using that as something to back it up just saying I'm not the only one doing it.

Conclusion is really just do what works for you because not everything works for everyone

Gotcha. I could easily stick to a serious diet, I am just not sure I would have the patience with belly fat. Plus I used to do a lot of cardio until I started noticing a lot of weight loss and didn't like it, so now I am only running about 10 miles a week. Currently, I am just working on hypertrophy with a 4 day split and with an extra day on legs--just because they are so important to me since I grew up with skinny legs and I don't want to lose any progress. I have been experimenting with this for awhile, and noticed a lot of weight fluctuation, probably due to water gain/loss.

But I am seriously thinking of trying a bulk then cut, just don't know if I could stick through the patience right now in these months (should probably wait until winter where I don't have to talk off the shirt and can wear bigger clothing.)

Yes exactly. As a bodybuilder you would bulk far from contest and diet pre contest but as us "normal guys" we bulk during winter and then cut the fat of when the summer comes. Not only because it looks better but being 250 pounds in the summer oh boy imagine how much you would sweat and going to the beach with your friends to swim or w/e you'll be tired after 1 hour.

I am starting my bulk in 1-2 weeks. There's a little obstacle right now compared to my last bulk - I freestyle about 3 times as much nowdays. Most days about 2-5 hours. I think I'll buy some gainer product just to put the calories back if you know what I mean.
