Religions have caused many problems, but they also brought about good. To call religion the root of all evil is narrow minded and stupid.
Having studied some of the world's religions, I find that a lot of religions are as credible if not more credible than Christianity. Also this thread is about the existence(non-existence) of a God-like being...however the only people trying to disprove a God attack religion which is a man made thing that is imperfect and exists for several purposes. Those purposes being good(moral values,rules, promoting charity ect.) and bad(power,wars ect).

Yes, that's why I wrote "Root of Evil", not "Root of All Evil". I agree that religion has brought it some goods, but the humongous issues it has created cannot even be remotely compared with those goods.  Many things bring goods, however, that does not corroborate a reason to ignore the countless disadvantages (especially when people's live are at stake).
