ulead sucks and powerdirector sucks.... go for it if you never wanna do anything complicated or have any amount of control over ur videos at all.

vegas is good, premier is good, final cut is good.  three best imo.

adobe stuff are expensive as hell.

as an art student i get that shit for cheap.  master collection or something like that, with all the adobe products from photoshop to premier to after effects and more....

avi and make it the largest file you can do up to 1gb, the bigger the file the more room for better quality etc
