i firmly believe that Red Bull street style will become fuckin more amazing than it already is and i can see the event drawing in thousands of competitors within lets say, five years?
i wonder how many freestylers exist in the world (lets say freestyler is someone who practises regularly and has knowledge of FS etc)
i would say 1000? maybe a bit more

I think it said on the site that there were about 3500 competitors alltogether

The overall winner will walk away with the coveted Red Bull Street Style winner’s trophy and the first place medal. As well as automatically qualifying to defend his title at the 2010 World Finals in South Africa, the newly-crowned best freestyle baller in the world will have the chance to give wings to his soccer dreams as he spends a week with the talent programme of one of the Red Bull soccer teams in New York, Salzburg or Brazil.

As well as taking home the second-place medal, the runner-up in São Paulo will learn all about a very different sort of freestyle as he takes to the air for a truly spectacular flight with one of the pilots competing in the Red Bull Air Race World Championship.

Third place brings with it not only the Red Bull Street Style World Finals bronze medal, but also the chance to hang out with your very own personal Red Bull hero. For example, ballers who like to unwind by catching some waves will have the chance to chill out with American surf legend Robby Naish.

Them are pretty good prizes but not all that special if that is it. Like if you win you may not be into football that much so might not really care about doin a talent programme. I'd do it, and im sure others would like to be a footballer too, but what I'm saying is that they are guessing/presuming every fser wants to be footballer.

2nd one would be cool, i'd enjoy it, but not so sure others may.

3rd is kinda shit like wtf personal red bull hero? Who? Don't have one.... So thats kinda weird imo
I mean there not really great prizes, especially when they're all to do with red bull so it's not going to be costing them anything. Like idk some money imo would be good or the chance to be in a vid with someone or something. Cos at the end of the day they're not doin it for the sake of the fsers, they doin it to promote their brand, so I think they should give a bit more back to the fsers.

Don't get me wrong the comp. is good n all and is only first year and good for fs. But I think they could of done it better, obvs. it not gonna be perfect first time, but they made some obvious mistakes that could have easy been changed if theyd actually been involved with some conversations with fsers.

I don't think it will be shown live, coz it say from 13.30 - 14.15 GMT. so I think they'll show highlights only... btw, I had no luck in getting anything

i disagree that theyre not "giving anything back to the fsers" i mean they paid shitloads of money to organize all the different qualifiers and then paid for all the finalists to go all da way to brazil for a week too.. and even ppl that arent competing were given a free holiday too, like Tiernan and someone else off this forum (lucaso maybe?) so i think red bull are being very generous and this can only get better every year
