Any good videocameras?
« on: Sep 22, 2008, 02:29: AM »
The only thing I have to record with now is my outdated mobile phone, so I really need a video camera (not too pricey though).

Could anyone recommend one?
Help is appreciated

Try the Sony DCR-SR46E Handycam. I just got it and I'm extremely pleased with it  :rockit:
although it's around 352 EUROs or $520 it's f***ing great for what it has to offer. 40GB hard drive, touch screen monitor, 1 megapixel, blah blah...
I got it for $530.

yours is a digital camera. it's made specifically for taking pictures. so with 6 megapix your pic will be freakin amazing

but mine is a video camcorder obviously made for recording motion pictures.

you might have about 1.3 mpixel for your video recording on that lumix, but not as high fps as a camcorder. my pictures will be bad compared to yours though.
so mine is made for high q video recording but can capture only decent photos, yours is mainly for high q picture taking but is able to record only decent videos.

Whatever you do, DON'T BUY THAT ONE !!
I though just like you Andy and bought one of those but the quality really sucks.
Add a few bucks and you can get one much, much better, trust me. :)

Since your not gonna make any movie that requiers the right light, colours, angels etc. you can buy almost everything, but i reccomend you to check the quality first and then make a descission. My camera is awesome but it's not me who bought it. It's for my whole family but i can use it when i want. It's pretty expensive though, maybe 750 € +-. It's called JVC Everio HDD.

Try checking the camcorder ratings. This way, you will know whether it sucks or not.

Good luck.
