The new look Barca
« on: Aug 07, 2008, 03:16: PM »
Did anyone watch Barca against Mexico Chivas? They absolutely popped it. Xavi skippered and passed and moved the whole game. I loved Guardiola as a player, and now he's coach I think Barca will play a more fluid team passing game than they have done in the past with the slightly jovial Ronaldinho playing. I liked the little Pedro lad up front, he can certainly play. Alves is erratic at times but sometimes he plays some great disguised balls and has an unbelievable engine. Xavi bosses it in there and Keita looks like he'll protect. They need to keep hold of Eto'o though. Messi and Hleb off him and they will be ledge.

I'm so pumped for Barca next season....and a team with Xavi cannot help but pass the ball well  He opens up so many options and his head up play is second to none. He spreads the ball around like few other players. I'm so pumped for that Boca Juniors - Barca game on the 16th -- I'll be watchng barca play at Campe Nou

You can tell Xavi is feeding off his play from the EURO tournament. I saw the game against the Chivas and thought they played very well.

Tom, did you catch that hard challenge by Xavi after he got taken down a few seconds before?

I still think that Barcelona has more talent than Madrid. That was true last season as well but they didn't play as a team or organized. They reminded me of the Madrid from 3 years ago, the team that wasn't disciplined at all.

As you said, they gotta keep hold of Eto. He was big time coming off the bench against the Chivas.

to true. i am curious of why so many arsenal players go to Barca. in recent memory there have been overmars, petit, henry, and hleb one thing i have said a few times that that players that leave arsenal hardly ever do better after they have left arsenal...
the new barcelona will not be better than real madrid.
Thierry Henry leaving Arsenal was one of the saddest days of my life....
