When I used to follow the football back in the day I used to tune into the Seria A way more than any other league, back then it was the best league in the world no questions asked, I don't know what happened over the years tho they fucked up majorly.

i agree with you on the first part of your post adi but the english league having technical and flashy brilliaance. thats the most stupidist thing i heard.

How can you say the Premiership doesn't have its technical and flashy parts? Do you not see players like Ronaldo, Fabregas, Rosicky, Torres, Babel, Xabi, etc. out there?

I know the league doesn't have as much of it as some of the other top leagues, that's why I said it had a nice combination of high pressure + direct football and some technique and flashiness. These two put together make it the most entertaining league to watch.

Fabregas made a great comment the other day, and it is that English players do not play outside of England (very rarely anyway). How else will players bring different elements to thier game? For me, it is all about bringing in players with different skills, qualities, and expiriences and putting it together. Don't take players that are all based on the same game. Look:

Rooney - EPL
Lampard - EPL
Gerrard - EPL
Neville - EPL
Rio - EPL
Cashley - EPL

lets see...

Ronaldo - La Liga, Serie A
Ronaldinho - La liga
Gilberto - EPL
Vagner Love - Russian League
Robinho - La liga

See, i know you're thinking "well these brasilian players started in brasil.." you're right. but then they moved on...they all went to different parts of the continent, thus picking up different styles, not keeping the same style of play. I'm not saying that you're national team should have players that DO NOT play in the country; it is good to have players playing in your country, of course. But all of them? I don't think so. Even the USA is picking up on this. Having our playrs stay in the MLS is a big mistake, yes of course because the MLS is not a great league..but also, our players will be able to pick up different qualities, look at Beasley in Scotland, Dempsey in England, Freddy in Portugal.

England just needs some variation in players..thats all they need. It's not about Capello or Mourinho...to me, it all boils down to the players abilities and ability to play with each other with skills that compliment each other.

Yeah but you all go on about Man Utd, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool all having different styles of play, well.. there you go, each player has a different style of play..

How many English players does Arsenal field on a regular basis? Theo Walcott gets a few appearances here and there. And to be honest, this is why we have the most beautiful soccer in the league :nopity: And i do not think there is anything wrong with fielding an all foreign tem.

You just don't get the point that i'm making. When you play against Wigan, Derby, Manchester City etc etc. it is different than playing against Livorno, Cagliari, or Lazio. What i'm saying is you pick up knowledge from a completely different style of soccer. Don't be afraid to admit that it is rare that English players  get to expirience this.

Alright I'm catching your drift a bit now.. if only our top 4 English teams played more CL games and international games we'd get more experience all-round.

It's not just playing against the opposition of another country. It is being part of this opposition. It is being part of an Italian side that you gain thier insight and style of play. Or part of a Portuguese, Dutch, or Spanish side. Playing against them is not the same; a player will not pick up this style, but will only observe.

You guys think Beckham should play again for England?

He's got 99 caps so I think he should get at least one more so he can make his 100th appearance for the national team. Someone was saying he might even be captain again under Capello!

Long-term however, I don't see much of a point in having him because he won't be good enough by the time England is at the World Cup. I'd keep him through some qualifiers until it's obvious he can't keep up anymore. He's still got a lot to offer. Considering he won't get any real big games in the MLS, he'll be playing like a mad man for the national team.

Heh..No i did not get an offer to play for Fiorentina :dontknow:

Beckham should get his cap and then be excluded from the squad (unless, of course, he plays rediculously well)

i agree with you on the first part of your post adi but the english league having technical and flashy brilliaance. thats the most stupidist thing i heard. and believe me your not the first person i heard this from. the english league is one of the worst leagues in my opinion. it has no skill whatsoever. now i am not saying the italian or spanish league is better but the english league is the last league in the world i would play for. please name me one player the english league has bought the best out of. the most closes one is tevez but i still think he can do much better.

look at chevy. is he any where near the chevy we saw at ac milan

I just read your post. Wow.

Cristiano Ronaldo, Cesc Fabregas, Hleb, Thiery Henry, Drogba (Yes, was good prior to Chelsea. But don't tell me his best wasn't his 30 goal season.)

To name a few players that have been brought into the EPL from other leagues/teams when they were younger or not as successful.
