I never had much of a problem with him, even after he admitted to it.  I expected it.

My problem lies with his attitude like others have said.  He's a prick.  He came out with this in hope of redeeming himself, however he's only tarnished his image further by shedding light on his true self.

How many people do you think lie to you on a daily basis? If you hated everyone that lies to you, you wouldn't like many people. I really just do not care. I never really cared about cycling to begin with. I don't really see why him lying about his steroid use should change my opinion. Anyways, it's highly documented  how bad the use of PEDs is among cyclist. It's rampant. Possibly some of the worst in competitive sports.
That is an incredibly bad comparison. The level of the lie and the amount of people that were affected doesn't even come into play in that example..

Honestly, how did this effect any of our lives that much? It's a sporting event. Who cares? Also, so many people are using in professional sports, that I refuse to make someone the villain like this. It's stupid. I'd be willing to bet money that the next Tour de France winner will have used something. Whether he tests positive or not is still unknown, but Lance never failed  a drug test ever if I remember correctly.

My comparison was fine. The lies told to you on a daily basis directly effect your life. They are actually worse. I really couldn't care less about this. I think it's even becoming a bit of a witch hunt. He did it, so lets just move on. The quicker people forget about it and him cheating the better.

Do you have any sense of empathy towards the people directly effected? You must think Hitler was just another guy since he didn't kill you he killed other people.
And to say the lies told to me are worse than cheating the whole cycling community, falsely suing innocent people and many more lies has to be some kind of troll.
Some times it seems like you just post for the sake of it. If that's the case you need to up your game and make it seem more realistic.

Comparing cycling to Hitler is absolutely ridiculous. Hitler's actions directly effected my family as well. My Grandfather fought in WWII. Even if that wasn't the case, comparing the two things is completely ridiculous. It's cycling for crying out loud.

Yes, he lied. Come on man. You are lied to everyday in things that effect you much more. Hell, most of the lies were aimed towards people accusing him of doping. Also, on the doping issue. I don't find him any different than any other athlete that has doped and lied about it. Him being the more successful and famous athlete doesn't make him a worse person for it.

Last time I checked, he is facing several lawsuits himself, so I wouldn't consider these people innocents.

Isn't it bad enough that he's lost all his sponsorships, titles, and his name has been dragged through the mud? Dude, he's still a human being. Even if he's scum, after a while we should just let him be. All of these companies that hate him and are suing him now are hypocritical in my opinion, because they made millions off him before he got caught.

Whether he tests positive or not is still unknown, but Lance never failed a drug test ever if I remember correctly.

They tested some of his frozen sample from years ago and the current technology proved he doped.

Also, he doped during the preparation stages instead of the actual race.  At that time, they only tested at the races and not prior.  That's how he got around it.

I think you're wrong on this one, Jason.  We all in some way commit ourselves to sports and athletes and often put our faith into them.  When someone proves to be a cheat, it's wrong and we have the right to bitch about it.  Not only that, but Lance set cycling back 50 years.  Who knows it they'll ever recover.

Furthermore, I don't care at all about those baseball players lying about their steriod use in front of Congress several years ago. I just don't care. That's actually far worse since lying in front of Congress is illegal. They could have all been charged for perjury.

I don't know. I must just take what an individual in sports does whole lot lighter than many people. The only thing that I've been effected by is having to hear people bitch about it. Other than that, nothing. Everyone knew cycling was rampant with PEDs before Lance got caught. Plenty of other cyclist got caught as well, but they don't get near the attention.

Sometimes I wonder why you are bothered by people having differing opinions. We are all entitled to our own opinion.

I don't mind anyone playing the Devil's Advocate role... makes it more fun.  It's a forum.

On another note, I think Jason just thinks differently about cheating in sports than most of us.  I want sports to be purely about skills and I want an even playing field.  I hate baseball primarily because they cheat (and yes, it's boring too).  Instead of accepting cheating as the norm, I think it's better for fans to show their disgust in hope of change.

This movie completely changed my opinion on the use of PEDs. I used to hate users and think they were cheats, but I learned that's it not worth getting upset over. If anything, I'd rather still have positive views of my sports heroes whether they user or not. Far too high percentage of top athletes use to hate all of them. Many of you like athletes right now that use, but they may never be caught.
