Has freestyle gotten bigger since 2000-2005?

I think freestyle had more buzz around it in the early and mid 2000s.  It has evolved since then and there are some bigger events, but I don't think the same buzz is around it as it used to be.

I think it's more common however and more people are familiar with it so in that regard it has grown in my opinion.

What are your thoughts?

lol, the majority of freestylers here can't tell you that since we weren't around.

-Don't break combos.
-Don't use crossovers to save combos.
-If you're a new freestyler looking to improve, check the stickys in the help and advice section.
-Send me a personal message if you see spam.

no its just that you as an individual freestyler have lost the attention you got earlier (for example in youtube)
When i opened my account in 2007 (which was blocked later), i had a tutorial vid with 400'000 views and my freestyle videos between 40'000 and 80'000. Now at my reopened account, they are at few 1000, newer ones haven't reached 1000 yet.

Now there are so many videos that your personal video is not special to others, it is only special to people who know you (except you are Kamalio or sb). And everybody has seen so many videos that it's very hard to impress people.
I watch a video and somebody does eatw, and i'm like "ok..." not too special...

Freestyle moves have definitely developed, but I was more referencing the growth of the sport in popularity.

John Clark... oh the memories!

I must admit, it was kind of fun when the freestyle community was small and everyone used to meet in one place.  It almost seemed like all freestylers "knew" each other.
