Two-footed?
« on: Aug 03, 2012, 06:36: AM »
Do you know of any naturally ambipedal / two-footed freestylers?

Some freestylers like Metoditos, Lamps, Krzyzowski, Joe Davies, Andreas Stumpfl have amazing 'weak' foot. I wonder if it comes natural for some of them?

I know a few people who are ambidextrous with hands, but it seems rare with feet........
forget Ronaldinho....only one deserves the -inho suffix......Jabarinho!!!!

i dont really know with freestylers but most pro-football players can use both feet, so i guess if they would start fsing they would be okay with their weak foot

People are normally born with equal ability in both arms and legs, but normally you begin favoring one arm or leg to the other. Everyone does this. Pretty much all players football or freestyle prefer one foot to the other. It's only natural. There are some who have managed to make their weaker foot closer to the dame in regards to their more dominant foot, but it's still weaker. I don't think anyone is completely two footed, because even in the best freestylers and footballers you see them favor one foot at least on certain techniques. Now, the more you practice with both feet the less likely you are to favor one foot.

I've managed to make my weaker foot quite good at football techniques like shooting, passing, receiving, and dribbling, but I can't do almost any lowers tricks with it for the life of me. I think it's that I've had over almost 2 decades of training my left and right feet at football techniques and only about 3yrs of training my feet at freestyle techniques.

yeh it is natural for everyone to prefer one foot. I'm sure those freestylers and footballers with great weak foot all prefer one foot, even if they are naturally comfortable with both feet.

100% ambipedal or ambidextrous probably doesn't exist.

It's not 100% impossible, but it's extremely difficult. The problem is most people do not make a conscious effort to improve their weaker foot until they are older and the dominance of one foot is already established. If you trained to do everything from a really young age with both feet, you may be able to not have a dominant or weak foot. You would at least have a far less difference between the two. The problem is that when you are that young, you most likely will not be willing to work on both feet enough to do this. You would need someone forcing you to do it with both feet.

For example, if a 3yr old child was coached in football until the age of 20 by a coach that always did every drill equally with left and right feet, it's very likely that the child will be as close to being two footed as possible. The problem is almost no child has that consistent of training to be that way. I know I didn't, and most people probably had worse training than me.

I've also noticed that certain techniques in things that you would naturally do weak footed, I am actually better with my weak foot. Probably the easiest example is driving. I'm naturally left footed. I'd feel like a retard trying to drive left footed even though it's a fairly simple task. This is one of the things that leads me to believe our bodies just condition themselves to do particular task with one foot or hand.

Baruzdin got a good weak foot because he was injured at strong, took him a long time to change his weak foot to strong. Lamps too i think, not really sure about it.
Im sure it took Azun alot of time too.

Rafael Nadal plays tennis with his left arm, because his coach told him to do so when he was young. But he still does write with his right hand.

If you would do every combo you manage again starting with the other foot, you would not have a weak foot.

i agree with reds4life and jaba, dont think u can be 100% as good with both feet, but if u train long time on weak foot then almost

Christof, thats not true. If you do every combo again with wf, your wf would be better. It's WAY easier to be consistent at weak than it is on strong, especially on stuff like (a)latw, hmatw, etc. Try it and you'll see :)

I'm fairly sure Joe Davies trained very hard to get the his left foot so strong, definitely not naturally good with both. I'm sure the rest did the same.

-Don't break combos.
-Don't use crossovers to save combos.
-If you're a new freestyler looking to improve, check the stickys in the help and advice section.
-Send me a personal message if you see spam.
