I had a knee injury on my right leg for 1 year. Doctors had no idea what it was but I had enough pain not to do any advanced tricks (like latw) anymore with my right foot for a year. Then I started realizing that my
left(yes, the other side) touch on atw was not as it was before. I used to be very fluent at it but it suddenly dissapeared :s Incredibly annoying. I couldn't do left atws in combos anymore and I had sooo much trouble to get just 3 atws in a row. Before my injury I could easily do 20 left atws in a row and combine them a lot in my combos. The touch was lost before I realized it

I truely believe that getting the touch back was/is much harder than learning the trick initially. I practiced my left atws every now and then during every freestyle session. It's not that I fully focused on getting the touch back. But it definitely took me more than half a year of practice to get at least the touch and a better movement back. Still today, it's not yet as how it was 3 years ago...
I'd say don't give up. Practice is still the key to get your touch back. I know how frustrating it is and many months I thought I'd never get back the good touch. After months without improvement, suddenly it can get better real quick. I've experienced it. Good luck!
